This is another reason JVG has to go.

    Stay.

But Yao needs to play like an MVP in the playoffs and T-Mac cannot turn into T-Brick from the outside.

And we need a real PF and PG to start for us.

For once I agree. Yao should be mobile on offense. Draw the defense to him so if we have cutters they can go into the lane and score aka Baron Davis on the Warriors. We also need another Big to help Yao out on the boards.

DD- couldn't agree with you more.

JVG never makes adjustments, or takes advantage of mismatches. It is always about execution, which is very predictable.

The playoffs are like a chess match. If you want to win, you have to make use of everything you have and constantly analyze every move your opponent makes, and then make appropriate adjustments.

It is very difficult to win if you only have one strategy. Once the Jazz knew what we were going to do, it become easy for them to makes adjustments on the offensive end, and to develop a defensive strategy.

JVG failed to make adjustments, and take advantage of mismatches as the series progressed. I do not find it a coincidence that the Rockets were up 2-0 twice, and both times we lost the series.

Also, when you only your play your Queen, Rooks, and Knights, which is what JVG did, it becomes even more difficult to win.

Pawns may not be very valuable, and sometimes they get in the way, but if used wisely, they can play an important role. It may be a small role, but these small roles should not be overlooked, as they can be the difference makers.

We had guys on the team that JVG could have used to mixed it up, but he never played then during the regular season, and thus they were not ready to play in the series. We went into the series with a limited arsenal

The fact is, JVG has lots of talent, but failed to see it and use it.

I really see JVG as a very poor playoff coach.

I think the time for JVG should be ended. He's been here for four years and he's done a tremendous job for the pieces he had, but his style of play can only lead your team to the playoffs, but you'll end up just losing either in the first or second round of the playoffs to a better team.

A team similar to our style of play but gets the job done is the Spurs. The difference is they have the best big player in the game and they have two slashers in Ginoboli and Parker along with a defensive presence in Bruce Bowen. We have T-Mac and Yao, and with JVG that simply won't get it done.

We have a lof of great youth on our bench if used properly can be efficient. Let them do what they are known for and maybe great things can happen, but of course I do believe we do need a Starting PG and a Starting PF.

With all this said, I like Rick Carisle (spelling?) to be the new coach of our team. The guy has run into a lof of bad luck, but even with that bad luck, he still did a great job in Detroit and in Indiana.

How about even giving JVG a partial season. If we start out 4-8 or something like that, he's out. If we go something like, oh I don't know, 11-1 on the way to a 65 win season we ride that pony all the way to the WCF and beyond baby!

I voted for him to go. I was always a supporter, but Round 1 was always my measuring stick for moving in the right direction this season, and we didn't get past it.

My main concern mirrors Clutch's...I am very skeptical about Adelman or any other available coaches out there right now. I don't necessarily think any of them is an improvement at all (maybe Larry Brown, but he's such a flake)

BUT, JVG did have his chance and he couldn't advance us.

Personnel is a bigger problem IMO, though
