This sums up my HUGE beef with Stro and JVG. Stro seemed to be turning the corner. He seemed to finally be breaking through. Right before his inury, and the game right after, Id say that we had the Stro we all expected. 16 points, 8 boards high shooting percentage, and blocking shots. What does Jeff do? He sits him a game after Stro's best game in a Rox uni to the tune of 8 mins, and then declares Stro third string 2 games later when he getting NO minutes.

If Stro can have 2 weeks of great games, and not be declared first off the bench, why can Hayes two weeks of barely nominal gaming (yes he rebounds ok) and be declared the next guy off the bench?

JVGs doghouse seems to be an unfair, and unwaranted place to be for some. JVG needs to get his head straight.

OH and NO ONE should cry about His rebounding. Not when we have a 7'6" Center getting twice as many minutes as Stro who cant break 9 rebounds a game. You cant cry that "Yeah he does this and that but he cant board" and NOT cry about Juwon, or Ming.

Its a load of crap how Stro got dogged after such a great stetch of games. No wonder this dude doesnt produce, or looks apathetic. When he did produce for weeks straight, he got sat. I mean really guys...wtf do you expect?

I posted several weeks back that it seems that JVG just didnt want Stro to do well. Almost as if it seemed he harbored some ill will or something towards stro. It didnt matter if Stro was playing well or not, the next day Stro would get sat regardless. I say F JVG and his metal r****dedness on this situation. Look at Stro's stats and it almost looks as if when ever Stro does well, he gets sat the for long stretches immediately after.

no one's crying about stromile's rebounding. it's merely accepting that he's doesn't have the skill or awareness or strength to be a good rebounder. the same is true of both yao and juwan, relatively speaking.

when that's realized, you have to find out who can rebound next to yao, who's obviously not going anywhere soon. it's more about accepting yao's limitations and building the frontcourt around him. no one's building around stromile.

We don't need 15 and 6 from our starting PF. We need 10 and 15 from our starting PF with good intimidating defense. We need a dominant rebounder and defender down low with Yao and an efficient shooting, above average perimeter defender to play between Rafer and TMac, a younger, bigger, better shooting David Wesley.

Give Chuckie 30 minutes and you'll get 15 boards.

Averaging 15 boards is insane....I know everyone is HIGH on Chuck Hayes right now, but avg 15 rebs? I highly doubt it.

I think the biggest problem of Stro is he doesnt have the feel on the court. Physical tool wise, you can compare him with Amare, but he is so lost out there and he's been in the league for over 5, 6 years. Gundy is a wrong coach to have Stro.

''When you're losing, the bandwagon gets empty,'' he said. ''But when you start winning, you see how quickly people want to jump back on. Because people are always jumping on and off the bandwagon, you should keep the bandwagon closed just to your team. It's easy now for some fans to say, 'See, I knew they were going to be good."

    JVG

hahah - this is the biggest smoke screen saying, "i have no idea how to utilize the tools i have....." the quote should be:

"'When you're losing, the bandwagon gets empty, But when you start winning, you realize there is no bandwagon at all and people become even more disappointed because they know I am a wack coach, my system is early 90's, and the winning will be short lived."

i totally agree with dreamshake. If you're in the shoes of Stro during playing, you would lose your rhythm coz you'll be benched after a few minutes.Anyone who's playing basketball feels that way. There should be continuity. If we want to play Hayes then they should be a combo with Stro so both of them can play!

Granted Baxter is undersized and Chuck Hayes is inexperienced. Playing Baxter and Hayes may not bring the team deep in the playoffs. But starting Stro will not even bring Rockets to the playoffs!

Stro should start, he needs better players around him to excell.....trade J-Ho, and let Stro, Hayes and Baxter hold down the PF spot.

Yeah, I would imagine if I was playing alongside Yao and TMac instead of that fat tub o' lard high school teammate, Bryan Dynes, I would excel too.
