Blah, blah blah... The more you talk the more you show your ignorance for basketball... you are blind to reality. You are in love with JVG and I don't understand why. Perhaps you are his lover. Because nothing else makes sense. He did a poor job last year and he is doing a worst job this year what will it take for you to see that. If you want to keep JVG fine just keep him in your own bedroom and not on my Rocket team.
No, no, no...I thought it was time for Rudy to go.....I just did not like JVG as a choice....I prefered him to Larry Brown (Stupidly) but would have rather had Newlin or Dunleavy. DD
LOL... I had to go back all the way to find this post... great insight DD.. How do you define winning consistently? Going to the playoffs every single year of his coaching career?
Did you read my post. I said that JVG could get fired if he doesn't get us to the play-offs and improve our record (for the YEAR!). Is that blind-love? No. That's fair! As far as blind to reality? Check the Rockets score. By the way, I support the Rox no matter who is coaching. But I give the coach some time to improve.
It is fair to say JVG has done a "lousy job" to date. In comparison to expectation and the rest of the league, the Rockets play to date has been disappointing. As to your crystal ball, may I remind you that you foresaw "95 PPG." They are far enough along that a 50-win season will require a significant winning streak, as will home court advantage in the playoffs.
the last 2 games, if i recall correctly, JVG never had both Yao and t-mac on the bench at the same time anymore... that's one problem he's fixing..
Yes, that's fair. And that's what I think you guys are locking in on. So, yes it's a FACT that we lost to ALT and NY, that that sucks! But this can happen to any relatively new player or coach. All I'm saying is lets give the guy some time. Let season finish out. Opinions will change (positive or negative) depending on the YEARS results. Well. True. I'm not sure how you look at it. But I see it more of a reason to get some consistency going. For example, win 3 lose 1, win 3 lose 2, win 2 lose 1.... That's more realistic. Now, if we happen to get a 4, 5 or 6 game winning streak going, then all the better (which is what I think you meant by "significant winning streak.") That's why I never look at it as a *all-or-nothing.* That's too much pressure. I want consistency, small improvements, and increased confidence. That's even before we pick up FA or make trades.
LOL. And... you're off the list! Cleaning the GARM of anti-JVG sentiment (... okay... until the break), one member at a time. It's a thankless job, but someone has to do it...
Even when he has a good game he gets dissed by JVG. So it would be hard to get motivated if no matter what you do you lose with van gundy. It seems like he has little faith in our players and the only ones that he doesnt talk bad about are his ex-knicks. I wouldnt want to play for anyone like him. I wouldve quit already and gone to another team if I had to put up with nonstop negativity.
We're 6-6 but we easily could be 8-4 if not better. ATL and NY were games that we had in the bag and blew in the waning minutes. In watching the games this year, we have been in every game this year and could have won every game so far. We'll know at the end of the year, but I believe if healthy we will get much better and be a very good team.
You needed to post this in two threads? The Rockets could also be 3-9. They haven't looked good, and (IMHO) .500 is where they should be, given their level of play to date. Some people see some big improvement coming with Bob Sura, but I don't have that "belief."
All those impatient Rockets fans should restrain themselves from posting nonsense. For this post to get 4 our of 5 stars is, quite frankly, absurd.
(1) Watching 90 PPG is not really "pleasurable." (2) The actual fact of things is that the Rockets have yet to gel, and look average. "Only 12 games" is not an excuse. (3) A lot of people would consider JVG (who is definitely responsible for [1], and at least partially, if not mostly responsible for [2]) the "unhealthy disease."
A lot of people... who?? The fans on this board who jump ship with each win or loss? To your credit, you've always been on the hate JVG boat. So atleast you've been one of the consistent ones. How is 12 games with a brand new roster not an excuse? Should they have been perfect after 2 games? We gave up big leads to two crappy teams. We didn't get blown out or necessarily look terrible. We weren't mentally tough down the stretch and it cost us. We almost beat Minnesota without our best player. You've gone on record as saying JVG earned an entire season to see what he could do. How about you give it to him, instead of feeding the mob?
because you are infected with the JVG hate disease. And you will be blind to the actual fact of things until you rid yourself of this unhealthy disease that will not benefit you but just eat you up while a pleasurable Rocket season passes you by. [/B][/QUOTE] I dont want to hate him. I can be wrong once! Im just not used to JVG taking any blame when we lose. That one article in the Houston Chronicle said that he thought he was doing some bad coaching. That is the 1 exception. Ive been infected with this disease for a long time now. It isnt anything new. I just havent been voicing anything about it because I wanted to wait and see if he would prove me wrong. He is a terrible person on the court. He seems too hard to please and Francis is the only player last year who would voice it out and look where he is now. We need more of a players coach and not someone that they have to be scared of to the point that they turn the ball over. If we keep him I will tolerate JVG because I want us to win. Even if we win the championship, I still wont like his coaching style and his perception of the game. It is fine if you disagree with me. Everyone has thier own opinion.
