I think JVG said that just so we would make an 11 page thread about it.

Him and Billy are sitting around their laptops sharing a gyro and laughing their asses off.

He will star in the league if he stays.

He could be the T-Mac of my church league. That's for sure.

    ;)

Actually, he could become a solid player imo...but he's just not ready to contribute to a good team yet.

He is ready...but not for this team, he would be better on a team that ran a bit and relied heavily on the pick and roll.

As a rotation player perhaps, but he's still shot about 30% for whatever that is worth.

A team fighting for home court in the playoffs can't afford much on the job training imo.

I wish he were here a year earlier, we could have thrown him out for 25-30 m/g last year to see what he had.

If he played every night as the backup PG, his percentages would be a lot higher and his turnovers a lot lower....

But, we will have to wait until next year to see it....unless Rafer falls and injures himself.

I agree, but then we are looking at Head as backup pg or Billy...

Right now, I think Head is the better option. We lose some play making ability, but gain a much better shooter at this point.

As a Coach, Jeff shouldn't make that kind of comment to the public, that really hurt! Not Good

JVG seems like he spares nobody from his wrath. V-span deserved that comment for his crying to the media about playing time he has yet to earn and I'm sure JVG wanted to say this to remind the player whose team this is and it was a classic quote from gumby dammit.

I remember a recent game when Tmac went off for like 40 on someone and during the post game, coach made a point of saying "how well he played at one end of the floor" and he kept saying it like four times to to drive the point hom that he was no happy with that matador D that his star player displayed at the other end. If his best player is open to criticism then certainly the 12th man is fair game! Shut up and strap up homey and bring your A game to the table to earn some PT.

But he never SAID that Tmac was bad on defense, only alluded to it.......JVG is certainly a truth teller......but he tells half truths about star players.

I agree with you (TMac, Shane can do no wrong), but to his defense, you really don't want to piss off the guy who is literally carrying your team

Oh yeah, like the Phoenix Suns, where V-Mac would be lucky to play 15 minutes the entire season.

He isn't ready now. Maybe next season. Maybe not.

He would play on a lot of teams THIS year, it would depend on the coach and whether they are comfortable with a highly creative and high risk players.

JVG is all about minimizing mistakes and will sacrifice creativity to get consistency.

Popovich will add players who are creative to the mix, and deal with the mistakes.

It just depends on coaching style....

And both of them work......V-Span is here, he will have to learn to play JVG basketball to see the court and sprinkle in his flava.....sort of like what Rafer is doing now.....

I think he was completely joking, and making light of the situation, but I also think he had already made his point in the press, and to continually make fun of a situation when it is a boss/subordinate situation is really classless.

It is one thing to criticize a player for their efforts on the court, it is another all together to use the press in an unprofessional manner to continually batter an employee, especially when the criticism is not universal for all players.

Rudy T, would not have done this.
