Too soon? Jvg was trying to have him run real plays?

Francis didn't really have a great year under JVG. He was still an all-star player, though. The team made the playoffs and lost in the first round to the Lakers.

We really could have used a guy like Scola back then. We had PF issues for a long time.

JVG is always a players apologist, Francis needed to tone it down and get better at playing basketball.

He was always too reliant on his athleticism, and once that went, he was out of the league.

DD taking time off from apologizing for the likes of Von Wafer, Hasheem Thabeet and Spanoulis to call someone else a player apologist?

Question. What "real plays" does westbrook run?

Don't get me wrong. Francis was too dependent of having the ball in his hands and running isos but please answer my question.

You were awesome in your rookie year. But then you stopped being awesome. Why did you do that?

JVG probably meant that he was out of the league for too long and was so freaking excited to be back and to watch Yao's first season on video...he probably watched the whole season 8 times before fall practice...that he had too many things planned.

I took JVG's comments to mean he learned as a coach. He got too excited about changes that were more about him and his life getting back to basketball than the team.

And I suspect he honestly regrets his inability to reign in and encourage his PG...in a culture of necessary change.

If he loved the game so much why didn't he spend a little time learning how to play it? Lowest basketball IQ ever. Biggest waste of talent ever.
