Actually, it was widely known and documented by the chronicle, that Gundy went to TMAC after he had a hard time getting started here. TMAC said that he wasn't used to getting such limited touches and was struggling with the offense and in response, Van Gundy told him to free wheel (yes that is my own words). I'm not arguing one way or another (i personally love Van Gundy and think he's the perfect coach for this team.), but the point he made was true.

I recall clearly the Van Gundy supporters singing his praises for being open to letting T-Mac create. With the terrible start of the '04-'05 season -IMHO- Van gundy was desperate for help in improving the offense. At the time I felt like T-Mac and Sura stimulated, created and ran that offense and made us competitive. Tracy gave props to Sura for being a "dog" - determined and tough. Van Gundy got praise on this board for letting T-Mac create.
Juwan Howard's shot is improved this season. I remember there was article mentioned that someone corrected his posture. Perhaps JHO should refer that guy to Rafer.
A little off-topic since I can't post new threads.. Are we going to set up another roadtrip to San Antonio on the 24th? Anyone setting it up like we did last month?
did anyone else listen to the whole audio clip? how can anybody not feel confident with van gundy at the helm? this guy knows basketball and is a winner. and i think he motivates his players more than one might think. i think he challenges his players and they respond to him. i listen to that clip and i walk away feeling we're in good hands...
The problem with that game is that it is in the middle of the week. If have work so I cant take the next day off. I would love to go if I could.
jon barry said on one of the few broadcasts he did last year the same thing about van gundy not controlling shots. he said jeff wants players who are confident and believe in what they're doing.
