I don't know if what Bobblehead is saying is true, but I don't doubt it much. People are saying it's an entirely different ballgame with Van Gundy, and that he is running a VERY tight ship. It's not going to be anything like it was under Rudy, like media getting a lot of practice access. He has equipment managers guard/block doors and apparently has body fat percentage goals for all the players that he expects them to be at. That may be normal, I don't know... but from what those in the know are saying, it's very strict. We'll see how the players respond.

I understand where you are coming from , but think about the 4-6 million you would be making if you were in Cuttino's shoes. Would you "have some serious words" in that scenario?

    I didn't think so.

Actually, I really like hearing that. Thanks for that info.

And I agree with RocketsPimp, they make tons of money and I think their coach has every right to make sure they show up in the shape to live up to what they are being paid. It might be annoying to them, but I hope it will have a positive effect.

Just please tell your ball boy friend to be careful and watch what he says. The last ballboy that started a thread like this was never heard from again....

It was you ballboy. I know it was you. You broke my heart. You broke my heart.

I didn't make anything up. But, this is coming from my friend and I see no reason for him to make anything up about it all.

I see it as a good thing. Rudy let these millionaires walk all over him and disrespect him by not listening to him.
They might actually have a price to pay by not listening to JVG.

Mobley should be happy about it. it means he's NOT going to be traded. Van Gundy would not call Mobley and show so much interest in him if he was thinking about trading him anytime soon.

    Huh? I fell for what?
This guy isn't making anything up.
We were just shooting the s*it at his brothers wedding out of state. I don't even think he knows or cares about this site anyway.
Believe it or don't believe, I don't care.
    I for one do.

Yeah, he looks like a bad muthaf'r.

Hopefully, he whipped out his tek-9 and pistolwhipped that Beyatch Colin Pine in order to make a point.

In speaking with some friends that are close to the Knicks when Van Gundy was there, he was a total control freak in New York. In speaking with some folks at the Rockets, the same holds true. He has already institued some very strict guidelines for all players and personnel. One for example, is that players are only allowed to sign personal items i.e. basketballs, jerseys, etc. twice a year. This was something he did in NY and will do it here in Houston.

Also, he doesn't like anyone outside of the coaching staff to fraternize with the players outside of the games. In other words, ball boys, equipment managers, marketing people, etc. can't even have dinner or drinks with any of the players without JVG approval. JVG wants his players to eat, sleep, and s@! basketball - PERIOD.

While in NY, several people quit because of JVG attitude. We are already seeing signs of this with Robert Barr taking a job elsewhere (I believe with Atlanta) and other people already starting to look for new jobs.

Of course there is a lot of hearsay out there on the streets but something that keeps coming up is that Van Gundy believes EVERY player including Steve is expendenable. The only untouchable for JVG is Yao. Rumors already swirling that Steve has said off camera to some people that he doesn't want to be under JVG and wouldnt mind being traded.

We will definitely be seeing a different Rocket team folks. No question. However, will we like what we see?

If it was not a part of the Agreement I
    signed on for. . . . YES I WOULD!

Just because the paycheck is large
it does not give management the right
to make outrageous demands above and
    beyond the Agreement we signed.

I was laughed off the board a few months ago for suggesting that JVG and Francis will be in a major power struggle before the All Star break. I still believe that JVG and Francis are completely incompatible. However, if the Rockets start to win consistently, Francis may buy into the system.

If Spree can deal with JVG, I think Francis can too.

Yes, but does that reduce other FA's values to our team? Rudy was an attraction to players, always. Will this be the case w/ JVG?

As long as he's in good term with Clutch and CC.net, I don't have any problem with that.
