The concept of getting Tracy for SF is so lopsided, the Rockets HAD to be interested. So, no, they didn't necessarily start with the mentality of wanting SF out. Even if they still wanted SF as one of their long-term cornerstones, they would have been insane not to considering dealing him for Tracy. Before the trade happened, at least one pundit ridiculed the idea of Tracy coming to the Rockets because we didn't have enough to offer.

Maybe "lied" was too harsh a term. My point was JVG wasn't the primary decision-maker on that deal. See the paragraph above. It was so compelling I'm sure Les would have told CD to probe it out and see what Orlando demanded in return regardless of JVG's opinion. It's possible JVG didn't imply he was the decision-maker and this was lost in the translation.

pryuen, my wording was too strong.

For people who are attempting to use text, taken out of context, from a translated sina article to bolster their argument: just stop it.

props to JVG for instilling a great defense that has obviously passed over from last year.

I respect him as a coach and think he did well with the Rockets. Unfortunately that game 7 loss at home to the Jazz stung bad. :(

Well, if you are still trying to bash JVG again, this is the wrong route. By your logic, He got us T-MAC! Probably the best trade in franchise history. He single handedly formed the most potent duo since Kobe & Shaq. Also, he's given us a great chance to win some titles in the next 4-5 years. Thanks DD for reminding us that JVG is responsible from turning us from a lottery team, to a championship contender. Remember, if it was not for JVG, we would have never got T-Mac. :D

He told me he had say in personnel moves, in person. ;)
But I never got closer than sitting across the table from him.

He was a good coach, I believe Adelman might turn out good also.

    We shall see.

I really don't know how about JVG's feeling in this game.
Most of the players of Rockets he coached last 5 months ago, but now, he is a spectator. I am missing JVG's defensive for Ademal's offensive is not fluent now.

haha....you guys are missing JVG now? This time last year, we were bashing him for everything. I guess thats the magic of nostogia, after looking through those pictures of JVG smiling and shaking hands with former players. You guys seemed to all of a sudden forgotten about all your complaints about him.

I've always known he was a good coach for this team. He ran a very strict and tight team, which didn't make very exciting games. But at least we kept winning and thats why I enjoyed watching the Rockets. He really showed this game as its finest, through his execution of teamwork and basic fundamentals. This may be small thing, but I'm also so glad that he didn't turn Battier and Hayes into floppers.

I want to see more pics. Looks like a lot of our ex players shook hands with him. I wonder if Bonzi did? That would be hilarious.

pretty obvious because the best player in the trade is TMAC and when you're getting the best player in the trade you pull the trigger........and look what happened, TMAC's still an elite player albeit fragile and francis could hardly stay on the floor and is back in houston.....juwan howard contributed whille he was around, no one's heard from mobley in years down in LA...........great trade if you look back on it...........and JVG's right, if steve wanted to be the man, which he would of, no way yao would tell his Big Bro, "no feed me instead"

If Jeff really said this then he speaks out of both sides of his mouth. What a crock of crap! What he said way back when is that you have to give up someone good to get someone good.

That is VERY rich coming from the king of the one lined sarcastic responses.

I figured you and Sam Fisher would appreciate the post, as I used the style you both made so famous.

    Man......you take the cake.

You forgot to use that overused cliche that only we see too often at Clutchfans. You forgot to say "Laughable" If you had said that, then and only then would you have been answering in their style. LOL
