JVG was yelling at Yao's navel. Its not the same thing. :D V-span has no escape once JVG starts in on him.

Tony Parker said during his transition he was yelled at more by Pop than his mom - and he seemed to turn out ok. Seems to dramatically weaken your argument.

I'm not sure if there was yelling or not on court, but during his post game press conference for the CLE game, he called out Mutombo for not boxing out twice in a row, leading to a scramble that caused McGrady's concussion.

Barry also commented about how it sucked being the star of a Jeff Van Gundy film session.

Spanoulis and Novak will be fine. They seem to have good mental toughness. Nobody's NBA career has been ruined for being yelled at.

I've got news for you: Phil Jackson, who can do no wrong according to some people here, publicly called out Andrew Bynum, who is much younger than V-Span. The NBA isn't for sissies and all of the guys that make that far have all been yelled at by their coaches. That's just a part of professional basketball. It may shock you that each and every NBA is part "drill sergeant" and part teacher. A player that can't handle that doesn't belong in the NBA.

SuperKev, Pop's yelling and screaming at TP and Manu is almost legendary. Both also had to adjust to America like V-Span. Looks like they turned out OK.

Don't forget the fact that Parker is one of the best PG in the game. I'm sure Steve Nash would have turned out O.K. too if JVG had coached him as a rookie. Wait I take that back, Nash plays horrible defense so JVG wouldn't have played him.

It depends on the player. Yes most NBA players are tough minded or they wouldn't be NBA players. You could almost say JVG is the perfect coach for guys like Bonzi because they need a disciplinarian, but it hasn't worked out that way so far.

Man anytime someone makes a valid point all the Van Gundy **** suckers come out of the woodworks. Forget the fact that dehumanizing players only serves to destroy their spirits and is a short term fix at best. Forget that he hates rookies. Forget that he is a moron. He clearly has favorites and is inconsistent and that's what makes his neaderthal style of coaching, if you want to call it that, unacceptable. You will never see him yell at Tmac, JHO or Battier period. No matter how many stupid shots Tmac takes or stupid passes he makes. But even as great a game as Yao had he still managed to yell at him. And you could see Vspan wince when called him over to scream at him. Oh and please do not compare Van Gundy to Pop. In all Pop's sterness he took the time to pull Parker to the side and say you are my pg. His style was more of a tough love and he gave TP minutes because he knew the best way for TP to improve was to play. Van Gundy is just a chicken **** weasel he has an inferiority complex.

My advice to Vspan is to learn the plays and then play your heart and don't listen to Van r****d anymore. Do what you think is best for the team and forget about Van Idiot. And if the little weasel keeps screaming at you scream back at his ass. Yeah you'll be sent to the DL immediately and be traded shortly after but at least you won't have to listen to that moron anymore. ANd the next time you play against him just run along the sidelines cold **** his ass right there on National television. You'll be suspended for a couple of months but it will be worth it.

Parker was nowhere near being the "best PG in the game" when he was a rookie... if you remember back, many people here were SALIVATING at the thought of our young stud PG (Francis) getting a chance to matchup with a clueless Spurs rookie.

Glad to see that turned out well.

Van Gundy **** ***ers? JVG "hates rookies" is a "moron", "chicken **** weasel", has an "an inferiority complex"?

Wow! Somebody forgot to take their medication and missed a therapy session. This is exactly the kind of sick garbage that derails threads and prevents intelligent discussion.

For the x millionth time in the last 3.25 seasons, Troll Man Rock displays why he'd rather be in the lottery with Rudy every year.....lol.

Maybe you should find a new team to root for that doesn't cause you to bolt for the nitroglycerin, I hear the Lakers are accepting new fans.

Well if you are able to filter the rhetorics out, Old Man does have a point.

This coming from the guy who said Vspan was slow and Lucas was better. Please don't respond to my post 3PeePee if you can't acknowledge the fact that you are an idiot first!

Why don't you filter his post out and explain "the point" to me. I'm serious.

OMR, I'll respond every time. Get used to it, especially since I know it bothers you.

I'm so scared of you. Please don't hurt me.

Saying that JVG is my hero is garbage and you know it. Just shows you have nothing really to say other than to name-call. You internet toughies are something else. LOL!

Get some help guy. You have some emotional issues to deal with. The first part of the solution is admitting there is a problem.

OMR, You've crossed the point of absurdity. Did JVG sell you his used Honda Civic and gave you a bad deal?

-Never yell at JHo? How about just benching him? Oh, but he's getting minutes again and producing. Van Gundy is getting more out of Juwan Howard right now than anyone thought possible. Criticizing his asymmetric treatment of Howard is not working for your point.

The fact is, there is only ONE team with fewer losses than us: Utah. Our defense, Van Gundy's trademark, is tops in the league and our point differential is second. We're one of the best teams in the league right now, and our talent isn't so good that we're capable of doing that in spite of JVG.

Further, all the VSpan fans got what they want - JVG let him play despite his mistakes. If there was a flaw tonight, it was turnovers - 21 of them. TMac and VSpan had 5 each. you'll grudgingly accept 5 turnovers from your star to go along with his 7 assists, and general playmaking and scoring. But 5 turnovers from your BACKUP PG with only 2 assists is not as acceptable. But Van Gundy let him use it as a learning experience.

But I'm sure that's not how you see it.

That's one angry post from Old Man Rock. But I thought what he said about
JVG never yell at Tmac, JHO and Battier no matter what mistakes they make
is true. Atleast that's how I see it from watching the game from TV, maybe is
a different story in the locker room. I have no idea. But we've all seen JVG yell
at Yao, Deke and V-span when they make mistakes.
