That was a bad example of a flop to set him off, it was actually a foul and just happened to be accompanied by a typical flop. But I completely agree. More power to ya, JVG.

Stern is making the call to ensure JVG's next contract extension falls through as we speak, I imagine!

Flopping is a result of the officials never calling offensive fouls unless the players fell down. That is how flopping started. Now, they've created a monsta because they wouldn't call offensive fouls correctly years ago.

It's shameful how the league is short in spotting those flops. An athlete undergoes rigorous training i.e. extreme drills, a lot of practice, weightlifting, etc. yet a little nudge makes them fly :p. Some times it makes me think that the streetball we play is more difficult than the NBA :p

ok, to those criticizing the idea of calling a flop in the game, it doesn't have to be that. It could be only video review either in the game or even after the game by the league. They could fine and punish who they see to flop, thus slowly discouraging the practice since it will be caught, especially if its reviewed after in a dedicated manner as oppose to if its just about in the game, floppers that are good will continue to trick the ref

Thats probably why Breen says its harder to officiate than it looks.

Sometimes players going after ball, one get knocked to the floor and its a no-call. But then when one gets the ball and there's a touch on the arm, its a foul impeding the progress.

Then there's the opposite elements of perimeter no touching vs interior paint slugfest. All that contributes to natural inconsistency

Just call techs if you even think it's a flop. Sure there will be times where it might not have been, but it will quickly make floppers think twice before they flop.

jordan was right. he would score around 50, in what the association has become.
bring back the handcheck! i know, games in the low 90s aren't sexy and the b****in divas would take a hit in their scoring average.
    I agree with jvg.

He's right, if they started cracking down, even if only on the OBVIOUS flops, almost everyone would stop. Jeff Vangundy is awesome.

No question JVG is right. But didn't Battier and Chuch Hayes made a career out of flopping? All under JVGs nose? Heck even Yao used to flop both under him and RA.
