Just when I think JVG couldn't possibly be any dumber, he goes and does something like this...and totally redeems himself.

it's only 6 more minutes and that's the direction they're heading in...as long as the docs clear him he'll keep increasing his PT. The only way he won't increase 6 mins in a season is if he has a setback.

I think by season's end he'll be cleared to play at least 35-38, but the rockets may not max him out, who knows.

JVG did a great job while in houston. he ran well disciplined defensive team, and did a what he could with the talent he had around yao and tracy. an he startded the Red Rowdies. Nice to see him showing love for H-town. cant wait to see him back on the sideline coaching again. big ups to JVG.

NBA Tonight on ESPN at around 9-10 pm.

It was kinda like a offseason review and upcoming season preview with Broussard, Mullin and Bowen analyzing.

They cut to a segment with Jack Ramsay, Hubie Brown and JVG and asked them which team can roll with the Lakers.

Brown said the Thunder, Ramsay said the Jazz and JVG picked the Rockets.

I wonder if JVG ever pulled out his coaching thoughts and said something like 'Look, I've coached Yao, Battier and Hayes, and they....' and goes on about how he knows they can succeed. I just never hear former coaches say that on nat tv, not even when jvg is commentating.

In the end didn't like JVG as the coach, but I almost always agree with his takes on ball as an announcer.

Yeah, the only time I like this guy is when he says something good about the Rockets. Which seems to be more now than when he coached. Gotta give him a thumbs up on that one.

I think that is definitely the plan. The team without Yao last season was still in position to make the playoffs after the all-star break, if they are at the same point again and then Yao's minutes are able to be upped, they should be great come playoff time. I don't think they are too worried about where they are positioned in the standings, they just want to get in and have a healthy Yao. If that is the case, not much else should matter.

    I love that man, JVG.

He's really the only guy out there that brings up the Rockets. Breen is an East guy, and Mark Jackson only talks about Kobe or Lebron.

    JVG keepin' it real.

The Rockets have been overlooked long enough and this has to end once and for all. Coach Adelman, start kicking the behinds of every team you face in the NBA. You have the personnel to do it so go ahead and make this season a special one for Houston.

Just to add some missing information, the panel included the 3 of the wisest coaches in sports analysis:
    Jack Ramsay
    Hubie Brown
    JVG

Jack pick the Blazers as the Darkhorse...nothing wrong being a homer.
Hubie, KC. Not sure what the connection is.
JVG, picked the Rockets. I thought this was a sound choice.
