You gotta give Rafer props for being coachable thats probably why he plays 44 minutes He is JVG guy because he doesnt ask stupid questions and plays the way JVG wants him to...
Amel, jvg did not say Rafer was the best 3pt shooter on the team. he said he is "one of our best 3pt shooters." which is true. and as for "defense is not an issue for Rafer," he couched that in he our best "guard defender by far." "He is the least concern defensively of our *smaller* guards." that is true. JVG meant that defense is not an issue for Rafer compared to the other guards. Plus he did say that he does have pnr problems. overall, JVG is merely saying the Rafer is our best option. He's just defending him, not spouting falsehoods. So, people who criticize Rafer's shooting are correct, and JVG's reply is "he's our best option, get over it."
People need **** to complain about. If rafer suddenly got hurt....ya'll would have a LOT more to complain about. Give it a rest
And do what with the ball while being wide open on the perimeter? Surely he should go in for the teardrop?
jvg merely said Rafer was our best defender of our smaller guards "by far." That is true. Amel is exaggerating what JVG said to make up some reason to question jvg.
If teams are going to leave our PGs open at the 3 point line. When Rafer has a bad shooting night. Why not bring Vspan in the game? He is a much better slasher/penetrator. Since Rafer's two point shooting is terrible. I really don't understand how a player can spend his entire career as a point guard, and not be able to make a mid-range jumper. To top that off, he shoots better from the three.
JVG referred to "true shooting %" in the interview. Thought that was interesting; I guess Morey has rubbed off on him a little. Though really he was referring the stat we commonly call "effective FG%". Rafer's eFG% looks much better than his FG%, but it still isn't all that great.
