You are right but then again... In athletic circles coaches and players always get at each other and make jokes. It was always like that with me when I played ball. I do know this though, as a coach you do have to understand that each player is different and some are more sensitive than others... JVG didnt seem to have that filter. Although, he did and still does have that with Tracy! Funny...
Why can't more members here have well thought out comments like JVG? Instead we have to deal with lame comments like, "I want to kill Shemac. Her vag is blocking trades!".
Rick is a heck of a coach, DM built a good supporting cast. They can be a good team w/o tmac, but not a championship team. Thought they would have been as good as the lakers, SA with the a healthy roster. Thinks the Rockets will be better then the team they will play in the post season. Believes we can get a home court advantage w/ this team. Said RA can get a long w/ anyone. Able to coach anyone. Coached artest and bonzi well. He is able to handle difficult people. Doesn't believe there was a disconnection between RA and tmac, but rather that his injury was handled the wrong way. Should have let the Rockets Organization handle it instead of tmac talking to the media and blogs. .. there are other stuff too, but i missed it. Something about the allstar game. Says he believe DM will do something to tinker w/ the roster before dead line. maybe something for the future or freeing up some money. Said other things about Vince/SA rumor. Mentioned what he thought about LA, and Boston..
said he cannot sit thro an all star game... he thinks its a glorified dunk contest and wondered why so many players are obsessed about it.. he thinks its not even a nba game. prefers watching normal nba games instead of the all star bad recap. but i think you would get the flow
are you kidding? he sucks and makes the team worse. plus he held the team hostage from trade demands with his fake surgery...if he steps back on the toyota center court i will know the rockets dont want to win and are bowing down to somebody(agent?tmac?sponsors?)
I really do not get it how a tough no nonsense coach like JVG could like a moody sissy drama queen like TMAC? Maybe he sees Traci more as a girl than a man?
JVG thinks T-MAc isnt faking it .. said that Mac didnt do the right thing with release of the surgery news.. he also said that maybe rockets are not believing him ... so he might be frustrated..
Well there wasn't this much drama, if any, during the JVG era. If all this happened on his watch, he would feel different,
I really liked what he said about Barkley's DUI, that he has no respect for people who DUI. His wife was hit by a man who was DUI years back and seeing first hand how hard his wife had to work to get healthy again, he has just no respect at all for people like that. Not many people have the guts to say that. I bet everybody, from TNT's Kenny Smith and EJ to any1 on ESPN will kiss his ass and not mention anything. Also JVG said he said it was difficult to deal with the fact Barkley will not see jail time (he said it in general but we know he includes Barkley).
Why is that exactly ? To me it's pretty normal to say DUI is a serious offense, you don't respect any1 that drives under influence and it should be punished by at least some jail time ?
I haven't listened to it, just read the recaps (thanks!). The interesting part was when he said that McGrady feels the Rockets don't believe him, and that has frustrated him. That would explain why he decided to declare, on his own, that he's going with micro-fracture surgery without again consulting the Rockets. Maybe when he talks about the pain he's feeling, they roll their eyes -- or he feels that's what they're thinking. He has a reputation for being a "wuss", and he thinks that his team is turning on him with that. Imagine if the pain was real, and his talk about feeling like he's back was him just acting tough to deflect criticism. It would have to be pretty frustrating for him to listen to the constant hate from his teammates and the media.
