Nice..... When he can adjust with Yao in and TMac... Then I may give him credit.

Right now JVG is riding TMAC's back on offense..

after 3 massive "fire JVG" threads, we finally have a positive one about him.

i'm s oimpressed with how this team is playing without yao. they are playing better without yao. why? because of the schedule mostly, but also the fact that the players new it was time to step up thier game in his absence. i can't wait to see what this level of play looks like when the big guy gets back!

No edc post in this thread? Shocker. I guess we will have to wait for the Rockets next loss to hear him bash "Mr. Van Gundy".

JVG is a good coach, not great untill he prove he can win the title.

There are a lot of great coaches who haven't won a title.

    Larry Brown barely got 1

    Jerry Sloan doesn't have one

    Don Nelson doesn't have one

    Lenny Wilkens doesn't have one

    The list is long

    All are hall of famers

Maybe you should ask Dennis Johnson about that!

I think Wilkens was the coach of the Sonics when they won back in 79 (or 78, I always get the Bullets and Sonics confused).

I won't consider Don Nelson as great. Look at the difference of Dallas with him and Avery Johnson.

I am not sure how much Rudy would have won without Hakeem, but its pointless to say rudy wasnt a good coach. I personally dont think rudy was great, but I don't think he is any less of a coach because he won with hakeem on his team. Same way, JVG shouldn't have credit taken away when rockets are winning with t-mac. I just think that logic is futile.
