I dont know about any of you but quotes like this really make me mad. I know i cant be sure but i have a fair idea that these werent the true feelings of any of you during pre season and at the beginning of the year. Its probably safe to say that a few of you wanted to ship juwan and were bashing him in the anti juwan threads. Seriously this has to be the most annoying trait of people on these boards. People changing their opinions on a nightly basis depending on how people go or the team goes in one game. GAH ITS ANNOYING
I don't know what am i doing now. Given the horrible connection speed here in Far East, I wasted the bandwidth to scan through the pages of this thread to find a post by ZBoy! I am glad that I have never given up any player in our roster so that I can always be happy and be proud of them when they performed well in any given night.
Juwan is playing like an Top 15 Power forward now. infact, he is playing like he was in he's prime with the Bullets. if anything, he's defense and rebounding is even better. 6 mill a year for juwan is a bargin. lol...
Dude, Zboy has gone into hiding ever since this Juwan streak started. But don't worry, he should be here on cue to resume piling on Rafer soon enough. Otherwise, we'll just have to wait until the next loss.
Buy low, sell high. Trade him while his stock is still high. To me it doesn't really matter what he does against most NBA teams except the Spurs, Mavericks and Suns. The only way I like Juwan on this team is coming off the bench, I think he helps give the rockets a stronger veteran bench.
actually, I believe that if he sucked really bad this whole season and then suddenly he has a great game like he did, you can infer that he hasn't been putting 100% effort but he did give it his best in that particular game as a result of an unknown cause (coach displeased?, lost starting spot?, his name got mentioned in trade scenarios?) not to take anything away from JHO, but to see him have such a great game makes me wonder if he has great potentional but he hasn't been putting his max effort to get to that potential. this is only one game, and I give JHO all his deserved credit. now if he goes back to his old self, I will lose all the respect I had from him before, but if he continued to play on such a high level, I would continue to give him his due credit. it's not about 1 game, it's about being consistent even when you dont get "called on". that's what seperates Shane Battier from others. he gives his best effort each and every game and u can tell by his diving saves and the charges he takes from 7 footers. I hope Juwan has the same mentality, but I doubt it.
juwon isn't the player we should have never thought about trading well not because of his play now if there is something better someone is offering us by all means trade him I think that goes for anyone on the team except Yao. the right deal comes about anyone can be traded. there is nothing wrong with Howard's play remember we would have beaten dallas two years ago in the playoffs if howard was healthy at least that is what everyone was saying then. pg is where the real problem is
I am not a Juwan hater and I am not going to own up to anything....yet. I have said all along and still say that Yao and Juwan together on the court is TERRIBLE. It gives us two slow players out there at their positions when the opponents are consistently quicker. I have maintained for some time that the best position for Juwan is to play the 5 when Yao is out of the game and sure enough he is looking better there, because he is a little quicker comparatively at the 5 than he is against 4s. The player that has really stepped up and is playing out of his mind is Deke. His defense has been just incredible. However, I wouldn't want to rely on a combo of Deke and Juwan for too much longer. They are still too slow, just as Yao and Juwan in combination are too slow. I think we are best served to play Juwan and Deke as few minutes as possible until we can get to a Juwan Hayes combo or a Deke Hayes combo. That's when things start clicking. Because when you match Juwan up against backup centers, he looks sooooo much better. Centers in this league are hard enough to find. Most backup centers outside of Zo and Deke are mediocre to poor players. And Juwan does have some offensive skill. When you put a guy like McGrady or Bonzi in the post and you put Juwan out high, the opponent has to either commit their big to double or let TMac and Bonzi go 1 on 1. Juwan is playing well, I have no problems saying it. But I still do not want to see 30 minutes per night of Yao and Juwan together or Deke and Juwan together. Better teams will eat us alive. Dallas, Phoenix, Clippers....teams like that will run us out the building.
I've never understood why people don't like Juwan. They don't give out $100M contracts to losers, do they? Maybe $60M contracts, this being the NBA, but not $100M. Clearly, Juwan is not a $100M player, but to even mention him in the same breath with such a number, means that he is above average at the very least. He's always been a step too slow to play SF and an inch too short to play PF, but he has a lot of skill, hustle, and intelligence. He's no star, but he can be the 5th or 6th guy on a championship team. Is Battier that much better than him?
Taking Howard's contract was a big part of getting Tracy. Now,because of the injury situation,we have the perfect storm to sell high here and deal him soon.
If we could trade for Mo Pete using Sura's contract, we could use Battier on Dirk or Okur because Mo Pete would be able to defend the perimeter.
