There is really nothing to own up to. The game he played is perhaps better than any game he played last season. He is getting boards and scoring and not taking very many stupid shots. He deserves playing time now. Last season he deserved to be canned. Give him credit though he is playing good and with Chuck Hayes and JHO we may no longer have the worst PF tandem in the league.
Hey I'll glad admit I didnt think he needed more than 15 minutes a game cuz he couldnt hack it. He proved me wrong. I'll take being wrong for this Juwan all year. . Still a little skeptical he can do this all year.
i have always liked juwon, so heres my chance to say i told ya so. rafer and jvg on the other hand.........well i will not get into that. i have always insisted if we had juwon the year we lost to dallas in the playoffs things would have turned out differently, i hope he can keep this up though. i believe he had had 3 strait double doubles, go juwon you tha man!
C'mon Cohen! You should know that being a good fan means the following: Before the season: - Make wild predictions about how we should easily win 60+ games - Discount injury or temperment problems - Talk about how deep the team is - Tell everyone how our superstars are in their prime and ready to be champions - Predict that marginal second round players will be starters by mid-season and all stars by next year After an early-season winning streak: - Back up the 60+ win prediction - Worry that our star players are playing too much - Complain that bench players don't get enough minutes - Demand to trade guys who have shot poorly After a tough loss: - Demand the coach be fired - Re-instate trade demands for players - Wonder if our star players are playing hurt and won't admit it - Assume that the 11th guy on the bench is "the answer" After an injury: - Claim the season is lost - Make wild trade speculations involving KG and future draft picks - Blame the coach for practices that are too hard - Blame the GM for not getting enough good players to put on the bench you thought was so deep After previously-maligned player plays well for a few games: - Claim it is a fluke, but demand he play more minutes - Blame the coach for not fixing the player sooner At the trade deadline: - Speculate that the star player on another team up for grabs can be gotten for a draft pick and a role player - Demand that any player who isn't averaging double figures in scoring be traded for a star...unless it is a second round pick and then claim he is untouchable After a late-season push to the playoffs: - Claim no one can beat us - Demand the rotation be expanded to all 12 players every night - Wonder out loud how much better we would've been if only our second round draft picks had played more - Demand the coach be fired...after the season After the season ends: - Demand the coach be fired - Demand that all injured players be traded - Blame the conditioning coach for not catching injuries sooner - Start praying the GM will make trades immediately - Dream up fantasy trades and how to move up in the draft Before training camp: - Repeat from beginning
amazing job proving all of us, myself included, wrong. I guess taking away all his pt gave him something to fight for for the first time in years
I think Juwan is in better shape. He seems leaner and faster, and much much sharper. I think the competition for playing time and getting benched lit a fire under him. Before pre-season JVG pretty much said that things would be changing at the 4. We brought in Battier to possibly play the 4, Hayes became an option as a starter or early sub, and we brought back Padgett. Juwan had to produce or spend the season as a scrub.
JH lost his shape in the early of this season, but the veteran know how to improve himself and give his own contribution to the team. I remember that JH said in a interview that he reviewed the game tape severial times so as to figure out what he needs to adjust for being back to the groove. Well, we can observe that he has been doing great and become a very stable player. In addition, his ability of rebounds really help the team out, especially under the tough situation without Yao. Just keep it up, JH.
I still like Juwan the backup to Chuck Hayes better. glad to see him help the team win. lets not get too excited about beating the Atlanta Hawks. they are the.. Atlanta Hawks.
The starting lineup looked great with Chuck and Battier complimenting the two big stars. It will be interesting to see if JVG decides to stick with Juwan when Yao returns.
It is no "Juwon"....it is Olajuwon!! like in the title of the thread. this continued misspelling is sacriligeous for someone like you R0ckets03. It's like spelling Olajuwan. You ain't no rocket fan doing that...and you ain't no rocket fan dyslexing Juwan into Olajuwon.
considering he said that he was going with Juwan while Yao is out since he didnt want to go with Chuck and Deek together in the starting lineup....no offense from two positions at the same time just wasnt the best idea.....I would guess that Chuck regains the starting nod once Yao returns. Juwan is playing very well right now, but you know he loves Chuck and Yao together on the court. Gods I wish Chuck could learn that jumper out to 15 like Jho does....that and some elevator shoes would make him the perfect PF for us.
JD is very good, not only that, he's a very good teammate too, always the first one to step up for their teammate. JD IS THE MAN. P.S. Stealing is OK, but just don't let them caught you.
I'll take any win, especially a blowout when our best player is on the shelf. Juwan will go back to the bench when Yao is back, we will maximize his value for the season if we can limit him to about 15-20 m/g. Chuck has got to step up when he's back in the starting lineup by staying out of early foul trouble.
are you seriously asking this question or do you know the answer and are just tossing this out for discussion. 'cuase you do a lot of 'splaining via stats and numbers...so I'm just curious if your post is rhetorical or actual.
