Agreed, in principle. But I think that would be a tangential relationship at best.

If Juwan comes back then this guy better get his job back too!

Yeah! If Calvin was cleared of all charges in a court of law and still lost his job doesn't that set a precedence for how Howard should be dealt with? I know Calvin was an announcer and Howard is a player, but considering Calvin's history with the team I think we are comparing apples to apples here.
If Howard is allowed to come back to the team why not Murphy?

calvin's #23 is hanging up in the rafters.

this is one of the reasons why the rockets sucked and had so much bad luck.
you dont jinx your organization like that.

    bring him back.

The glasses will be used in a 3 player/object0 trade....Juwan and the Glasses for a guard who can shoot...any takers?....The glasses might be needed to make the salary cap issues to work....

All of the posts are based on a "proven guilty" situation followed by some sort of penalty phase. And the facts have yet to even be presented except in news media.

That being said, yes I would approve of being lighter in the cap by the absence of JHo and his lack of performance in the areas we need hiim to perform.

Any cap relief for persons of dubious performance would be welcomed at this point. We inherited JHo and his contract as the price we paid for TMac, we did not go out and seek his service and he does not have a long and storied career with the Rockets.

Some of the tongue in cheek posts are funny, even if I don't agree with their lack of gratitude for Juwan, who has been good to the city of houston, and done nothing here but his best as a part of the trade that brought us Tmac. Remember, they took CATO. Holding his salary in question is ignoring how he got here. At least the man TRIES.

As for the hilarious comments about someone "having a tape of him stealing time from Stro"... very funny. I hear he tried passing some of the minutes to Swift but stro was unable to get his hands on any legitimate playing time.

I find it hard to believe that this shop owner just had the glasses out laying around, or that he would let Juwan look at them without being aware if they were returned without a purchase... but who knows?

We won't really know until we see the video or learn more.

As for hoping to get out of his contract, and all the other BS, it shows usual character of many here.

Let's hope it's a misunderstanding, or a ploy for publicity that will get nowhere at J-ho's expense. He has always seemed to be a man of some character to me.

LMAO, maybe Juwan wanted some street cred, so he stole some sunglasses, cause we all know Juwan has ZERO credibility at all.

hell yeah, i'm totally down for a plea bargain that sends j-ho to jail and we get ralph, mad max, and calvin back in return as parts of the rockets organization

i'd even support juwan getting a life sentence for that....maybe in jail he'll finally learn how to play defense if you know what i mean

Maybe Juwan Howard stole those degrading pictures that Ryan Bowen had of Jeff Van Gundy (in order to get playing time over Stro Swift). That is why Bowen's playing time went down and Howard's continued to rise.

obviously a mistake if it happened, accusing a person who has earned over 100 million in income of stealing something from a store is just a way to get publicity.

    unless he really did it.

    Guys,

I am not saying he did do it, I am just wondering if he did, could the Rockets void his contract.

I guarantee they are looking into it, they should be looking at all their options.

Getting him off the books would allow them to be a much bigger player in the FA market.

Not saying it is going to happen, but it is certainly a possibility.

why would anybody sign a player like Juwan for 6 years at 37 million?
Oh yeah, the Rockets did the same thing for Moe Taylor! What is it with these Michigan guys? Can`t they go out and get a real job?

It`s funny how incompetent GM`s are in all sports these days, I guess maybe they should have a graduate program at Yale or Harvard for GM`s to learn the value of a buck! Oh that`s right , its callled....ummmmh...aaaa....Business School. I think there are more deadbeat contracts in sports than there are in corporate CEO positions...Wait i take that back tooo! damn....i`m so confused:)

Being a Rocket's fan foremost, Seeing Rockets pay Juwan 6 mil + per season through 2009 is a boat anchor-pulling us down. I realize he was baggage they made us take to get the benefit of TMac, but Howard is one of the weakest power forwards in the West.

Juwan Howard is a liability on rebounding, blocked shots, mobile defense, and inside scoring. He has a nice 18 foot jumper.

At 6 years at 42 mil - I would rather have Cato- he played hard under Van Gundy. To JVG credit - he got the most out of Cato anyone has. Cato is strong and could help Yao inside with muscle.

No Doubt Juwan Howard tries- his talent is limited.

I do not think he stole anything. He seems to be a high character person.

Juwan was Orlando's prize free-agent signing the season before the T-Mac trade. JHo would be putting up better numbers on any other team in the NBA.

dude, I was thinking the same way.. I was Laughin my A$$ off when I saw this stupid Headline..HOWARD CAUGHT SHOPLIFTING...lol. . :D ...it's hilarious... btw, what are the consequences of shoplifting ?? will he go to Jail (hopefully :D ) ??? or will he be suspended without salary from the NBA ??? if that happened, it would be the best thing that happened to the rockets since right after drafting Hakeem and Yao and trading for T-mac.. :D
