LOL........true-er words my friend! I'm calling BS on this one for sure... You guys need to get off the gossip wagon, ya sound like a bunch of cackling women...
I've never been in a store that sells $2000 sunglasses but I would imagine that they would be behind some kind of glass display or something. Not like the ones on the rack at the convenience store, yeah this smells like a set up or something. I gonna go ahead and throw the racial profiling card out there, how many 6'10 black guys are walking aroung fancy boutiques in South Beach? Udonis Haslem, Glen Rice, Wayne Simien, maybe a Dolphin or two? Either way I'm sure he'll clear his name.
How is it racial profiling if the purported crime was committed by Juwan Howard specifically. It would be different if an unknown masked and hooded robber stole the glasses and cops just started searching a bunch of shady looking black guys. Thats racial profiling. This case isn't.
Well i was watching CNN Headline News at work and they talked about Juwan. They said the owner has vedio evidence that Howard shop lifted the glasses.
Its profiling if you assume that if Juwan is on an NBA Team, that team won't make it to the playoffs.
What I'm suggesting is that the easily identifiable black guy was blamed when the sunglasses were found missing. Or perhaps what is on the tape is that he is in the proximity of the sunglasses sometime during the day when a whole bunch of people could have been near them. Regardless, I just find it very difficult to believe that they have a video of Juwan picking up a pair of sunglasses and walking out with them without paying for them. But hey, maybe he's a clepto or something you never know.
Everyone know's who Juwan is. He's a fugitive from Washington, Denver and Orlando.. now he resides in Houston. He's the Ken Lay of the NBA, sinking NBA franchises to the point of the Lottery. Last year, he was on the milk carton in Houston cause we couldnt find him in the playoffs.
how'd i read through the first page with every single person assuming he was guilty? geez.. no faith at all.
somehow i think it's no. i don't have specifics, but i feel like people have done more serious things with the law and not been voided
Void a contract due to a player being convicted of a crime? I have no idea...but considering all the trouble they get into these days I doubt it (don't recall any voided contracts).
Come to think he probably was faking that heart infection, just so he could case a couple of Louis V keychains here in Houston.
First: I am not a lawyer so this is based on common sense only. Second: If Juwon is tried and found guilty of felony theft/sholifting, I am sure he would be off the team. Cap ramifications are not my specialty, but I would assume there is a morals clause in the contract, for conduct detrimental to the team and the NBA, to replace him and his cap money. May have to wait till next year tho'.
This is what I think too, if he was convicted they could void his contract. I guess we will have to wait and see, but a small part of me hopes it is true and they can get out of his albatross style of contract. DD
News Flash just in the store owner has released the video footage of the alleged theft and it shows Juwan Howard driving off wearing the sunglasses while rocking to Judas Priest: Breaking the Law.
