MoT came from teams that did not emphasize defense. He's still learning how to play that side of the ball. Look how he improved between the beginning of the season and the end. Next year will be more telling. The off season is where he needs to do his work. ------------------ I let the dogs out.
Actually Howard only has 2 years left on that contract. The last year being something like $19 mil. So that means after that second year the MAVS will clear $19 mil from their cap. That also happens to be the year Duncan is a free agent again. I would bet that Cuban would make a serious run at Duncan at that point. Also the only reason owners fear that cap is because of the luxury tax which Cuban has continued to say won't effect his decision on paying players if it helps his team. Howard is better than Mo by the way. ------------------ http://www.rapmusic.com/texasg/NewMavsLogo1.jpg
They won't clear 19 million. They will still be responsible for staying under the cap---and moving their own FA off of that may not place them there. ------------------
"Aren't free throw rebounds counted as team rebounds and not individual rebounds? I'm pretty sure that's the case." I'm almost 100% sure this is NOT the case. As for Howard, he's pretty useful to have on the Mavericks, because they lack low-post threats, but comparing Mo Taylor to him is kind of difficult because they a play different type of game. Taylor's post skills, if they even exist, are not nearly as good as Howard's, and Howard's shot is not not as good as Taylor's. I'd rather have Taylor though. ------------------
