When I say easily replaceable, I don't necessarily mean with the backups we have now, though that is within the realm of possiblity. We should, however, get enough production out of the other guys so that we're not sunk. I think Juwan is overrated on the board simply because he is the starting pf. There are a ton of guys around the league that could fill his spot just as well, if not better.

You beat me to the punch. JH is very important to this team. As for some people mentioning Baker as his step-in replacement; If he was that good, why doesn't he come off the bench now? How much time does he need to learn the JVG system?

Vin Baker will remain in the same pecking order that he is in right now. Padgett will have plenty of time to get his shot back, because his hasn't been dropping shots as well lately.

    Let's face it...

    Obi-Juwan-Kenobi, you're our only hope.:(

    Get well soon.

I'm not so sure. Crisco's got a point. During those 4 big wins against Dallas, Seattle, Phoenix, and Sactown, Howard was consistent and stable but not doing anything extraordinary. Here are his stats during the Rockets 5 wins:

    26.6 min 45.5 %FG 5.7 reb 9.6 pts a game.

I don't want to undervalue what he has done but at the same time I want to point out that that type of production can be equaled by Padgett, Spoon, and Baker.

I'm sorry New Jack, Howard is never going to be able to defend Dirk period. Whether he makes it back or not, Dirk is going to go off on us. I serioulsy double JH can defend most of the PF in the west at all. He was good offensive thread though.

I think Sura's #3. Mike James has been a big contributor in every game so far. Wesley plays tough D against everyone and sets the tone early. Hell, even Barry is what, 3rd or 4th in the league in 3 pt %?

I think you can make a case for Howard being 5th most important player on the team, but I wouldn't go for 3rd. Before the season started, yeah, I definitely thought he'd be the 3rd option, but I'm just happy he's accepted his role on this team and played within his game. What's gonna suck is trying to adjust to a new player who's been a fixture at that position, since what, about the 10th game of the season?

How about wait till Baker did something good for the team, and then we're gonna be in a mood to give nick names.

How about undrafted free agent? I'm sure there's a lot of guys itching to get into NBA.

You know the way the Rox are going, VB will probably start putting up double/doubles filling in for Juwan. He is a former allstar and he was putting up good numbers before his incident in Boston last season, so lets hope that natural ability comes out. Hopefully, Juwan's injury is a blessing in disguise like Sura's injury.

isn't that all that matters though? i agree that his production can be matched by a good number of pf's around the league but none of them are available to the team right now. that doubles how important he is.
padgett and the boys can hold down the job now but we're not championship contenders this season without him.

Do they already know the results of the MRI that he was having on his knee? If they do then why hasnt 610 said anything about it?

I want to see a report saying "MRI's negative" before I believe this day to day talk...

It says updated on 3/15, today, so I would assume that the Rockets released this to the NBA which inturns releases it to the media??? Maybe 610 will "throw it in" for the commute home...

Why not just "doubtful" then??? Hey, Shaq was only out for a week and his spill looked nasty with all that weight... I know, I know...

the afternoon guys aren't going to make an effort to find out. Look if it was a Texans injury, they'd be all over it, called the right people, and found out something significant by now. but If they did that they wouldnt have time to tell you that Orlando Pace may come to the Texans.

lol...so true. We might have to wait for Matt Jackson to come on before we get an update on Howard.
