    1) Someone gave him a two year 7.5 mil contract with a PLAYER option just before last season, so you exagerate "league gave up on him YEARS ago"

    2) He has played 8 minutes in 25 games this year. There are others guys with fewer minutes in the league. If we thought there was "zero % chance under any circumstance" he would have been on the IR or bought out to free up the roster spot.

    3) Just last year he was putting up 11 & 6 over 27MPG during his time in Boston.

4a) We are freaken desperate, certainly if Howard is gone 6+ weeks. Neither Spoon nor Padget can, NOR EVER HAVE, been able to guard upper tier 4s for even 10 minutes--can't say that about Baker.

4b) It is not doing "him a favor", hell it might even be worse for his psyche and health to put him through the rigor of NBA games. But why not give him a couple of weeks of regular minutes to see if there is anything left to squeeze out of him (see 4a), we have nothing to lose, Spoon and Padget are not going to get mad they see a few less minutes because they will still get a lot more than they would for any other team in the league.

    5) maybe NIKE can clarify, but we can come over the world for another PF but even if we find one of any more use than Vin there may not be a way to put them on the roster for the playoffs if JH can't come back.

New Jack, I agree that the chemistry is the thing at the level we are now EXPECTING this team to play...sorta funny compared to the prayers against 4th qtr collapes we used to invoke, but I feel Spoon showed last year that he's ready when called. Just as with MJ, Spoon will respond with more playing time as a starter. I believe this. He deserves to start a few games to see what he can do.

    Spoon - 22 mins 7 rebounds 4 points

    Rockets continue motoring along.

    let's see if I have a clue.

and yes I would sign malone if he wants to play, you'd be stupid not too if the knees fairly ok.xddx

I have been hearing this nonsinse all day

seems everything thinks that Padge and Spoon can't NOT play defense on KG and Dirk just as well as Howard

I went to the game last night and was there atleast 2 hours before the start of the game. Moochie, Juwon Howard, Jon Barry (was talking with the Warriors trainer), Diekembe and Vin Baker were all practicing for atleast a hour and a half. I hope Vin Baker is ready to get some playing time and all this practice is paying off. He does not look as over weight as he did before in Boston and later years in Seattle.

Scott Padget also did not look as sharp as he has been this season. I do not think we should start him, he would be better suited to come off the bench unless we play a team that will double Yao alot from the power forward position to keep Padget open for the shot.

cool does that mean you won't post gems like this till next year either? since this season is done you don't need to watch anymore.

if he misses the minimum of 4 weeks he'll be back for the last 5 games and should be fine for the first round. if he comes back later i'm thinking he atleast gets in a game or two. then there's the chance he comes back early as well. i don't know if we win 50 games now but we have enough to hold down the fort. however he HAS to be back for us to win a ring.

all in all 4 weeks is positive cause it's certainly better then what sura had heard.

I can't believe that Willis25 and tinman are like best buddies now. It almost makes me think that their first "pic war" was just a cover and they are actually the same person.

Hope Juwan gets well soon... I don't think anyone else is adequate enough to replace him... we need Deke get in once Yao is resting on the bench...

Having James-Sura-Barry-Wesley on court at the same time seems to be fun to watch... but the inside presence is not there...

I think that Spoon and Padgett will actually be able to hold the 4 spot down during the regular season but in the playoffs against Dirk or the Seattle 4s we will need Howard. Hopefully he is a quick healer and will be back in 4 weeks. That should give him 3-4 games to get some of that rust off.

Well if he's out for 5 weeks that means he misses the rest of the regular season. Playoffs start on April 23 meaning he has five and a half weeks to get back. I hope he is a quick healer.

I think Juwan offers intangibles - chemistry and game flow.

Best Case- Juwan is back in 4 to 5 weeks, gets in a few games to get into near game shape, and can contribute in the frontcourt.

Spoon can defend and bang and keep pressure off Yao with banging. Spoon may be equal with Howard on rebounding and banging, but I'm not sure about Spoon's endurance or game shape.....I wish Spoon would put the fork and knife down...

Bowen has hustle and can defend, rebound and dive for balls..
Ryan Bowen should never shoot the ball.

Padgett can score with a nice shot..not much of a rebounder or defender.

Juwan moved well with our offense- he did not slow us down....

At least we did not lose McGrady or Yao.

    Go Rockets!!!!!!

I'd rather see Spoon use all the utensils. At least he can get some more exercise that way.

I don't know if anyone has posted this quote:

LOL. Baker wasn't mentioned among the "other power forwards."
