I looked into it, you're right, it was Derek Anderson who Howard gave a seperated shoulder. He also knocked the crap outta Malik Rose.

    My kinda guy either way.

When the Louisville PG was hurt, Gaines stepped in and led the Cardinals in spectacular fashion. However, from what I have read, the poor coaching in Orlando damaged his confidence and, consequently, his "game."

When I say he needs half a season, perhaps a whole season, of PG instruction from JVG, that is not a reason to doubt him. He will not come here knowing the JVG system or how JVG wants him to play. Only time will acclimate him to that. Only time will provide JVG with a comfort level in having Gaines run the team.

As an example, Boki had a slow start in the JVG system, but by the end of a season's worth of offensive and defensive instruction, Nachbar showed flashes of what we expected from him. That is why many on the board are expecting a breakout year for Boki.

Gaines may well turn out to be a bust. However, give JVG a chance to teach him what he expects -- nay, what he demands.

    That's nothing, I got Nachbar averaging 29 PPG, 11 and 11.
    I got Milicic at 25 10 8
But as you said, that's just ESPN Basketball.
