    Dorsey?

Obviously I think we'll grab a center, but who knows how good he'll be. they're not easy to find. My point is that we have time to find the right guy, even if we go into the season with an average 1-yr rental.

I hope you aren't taking my name in vain. ;)

However, I agree. Pachulia is the better choice if we can get him. I just don't think we have the assets to acquire Pachulia whereas we were at the cusp with Gortat. Mihm or the pricier Kwame Brown would be a good pickup for the money to back him up.

Ariza is solid, upcoming player and, on the whole, I'm as happy with him as Artest. However, he may well be hobbled by foot problems -- and therefore become untradeable -- in a year or so because of his frenetic style of play (a real positive but a negative as well -- the brightest flame burns twice as fast).

Time doesn't stand still. Artest WAS the better player. But from this day forward (which is the only thing relevant), who will have the most productive 3 years? It isn't so clear, is it?

Couple that with the added drama that Ron adds and...

Think future brother. Theres no point of keeping ROn artest for 1 year for mediocrity type season. We are adding building blocks to our championship caliber team for 2010. Ron is 30, Ariza just turn 24 bro hopefully he has more in his baggage.

good post. apparently it has to be said 1,000 times...adding ron to a team without a healthy mcgrady and yao is pointless. if you think ariza can help you ultimately down the line....and you already know he can be a cog in a championship team....then you do this deal, because you're not building for a 2009/10 championship anyway.

This kid is long, always comes up with a steal when the team needs it can score if he needs to. I think he is the type of guy we need. Now if we can get a big guy like dalembert or some one that can run and contest shots at the rim we could be the old phoenix suns but with defense.

You know, I'd actually never thought of that before... but now that you mention it, Ariza's game does compare pretty well to Posey. He definitely has the opportunity to be better because he is only 24 as well...
