I'm in the group of people that thinks this lady is dumb for believing she's entitled to yell at the players like she understands the stuff that's going on. It's not her job, or her right, to yell at a grown man to "suck it up" just because she can afford closer seats than most. There's no way in hell that old woman knows anything serious about how basketball is played. Lebron could've been arguing a great point, but she's had enough! lol It's definitely funny, but it's annoying that this old rich woman that gets ridiculous amounts of respect for being wealthy that she's used to just treating anyone the way she feels.
Lol, chill out. She's a fan of an opposing team in HER team's stadium telling him to stop arguing with the ref. She wasn't vulgar, wasn't insulting, wasn't offensive, wasn't racist, or bigoted in any way. She's just a passionate fan. It actually IS her right to yell any damn thing she wants because she paid for those seats with HER money.....if anything, it's YOU who's got no right to decide what she can and can't yell. This is 'Merica. Deal with it.
I do not know that she can say "any damn thing". LeBron gets paid to play basketball, not take chit from every opposing fan night in and night out. A lot of verbal abuse has been taken too far by fans over the years including racial slurs, death threats, etc. I understand that some of this comes with fame, but LeBron James probably gets it the worst out of any professional athlete I've ever seen.
I don't think "suck it up" is racist or even much insulting. I'm sure lots of posters here have yelled that at opposing players at one time or another. They just aren't rich enough to sit at courtside to be heard. Pro players are paid to perform in an environment that is competitive and the fans are passionate. Heck, even high school players hear worse things. If you can't deal with that, then you shouldn't be making a living in this profession.
Why can't she say "any damn thing," short of threats of physical violence? If the league wants to make sure their players' feelings aren't hurt, then they should make a rule and attempt to enforce it in the arenas. Until then, she can say any damn thing.
Not sure exactly what argument you are trying to make here. So, you think she has less of a right to yell "suck it up" to Lebron just because she has a closer seat? Are you really trying to argue that the spectator three rows behind her can do that, but she can't? And whether or not she knows anything about the intricacies of basketball is entirely irrelevant here, as the vast majority of the audience (including you) doesn't know "anything serious about how basketball is played."
Any damn thing within the confines of being socially acceptable. "Suck it up, LeBron" certainly falls within those confines.
Exactly. My opinion on him as wavered due to the Blatt fiasco...but if you take a step back you'll realize Lebron is probably the best model athlete out there. Even while I hated on him I would concede this to be true.
