I would love to get Odom but I would much rather have Caron Butler at the 5th or 6th pick. Caron has much more upside than Odom IMO. Odom is another player that doesn't use his head. We already have Mooch, Steve and Cuttino that don't use their heads. Caron looks like the real deal.
How can anyone say that Butler has a bigger upside than Odom? Odom has a larger upside than anyone on the Rockets roster now and that includes Francis or Griffin. How many point forwards can fill up a boxcard like Odom? Sure he had a poor yr, but he's 22 and last yr he avg 17pts 7.8 rebs and 5.2 asst while shooting 46% from the field from a then 21yr old. If I could give up thomas,the 5th plus maybe someone else for Odom, its a done deal.
Ron Artest? Sure he's a pretty good player...but look what Shandon Anderson was able to give us in 30 minutes of play.. roughly 12 points, 5 boards, and a steal.. while shooting 47% from the field... hmm.. strange, we're searching for a SF, when we had one to begin with.. =/
I like the idea of moving up in the draft to the two spot.. assuming we are at the 5 spot..then I believe we are in the driver seat to take our pick of ming or jason williams (trade bait) and get rashard or odom..lots of options..
