Actually, no one has a RIGHT to post anything. This is a site that is moderated and provided by Clutch, he decides who has what PRIVELIDGES ! I just find it ironic that people are whining about people complaining about the team. My only point is if you don't like what people say on the BBS you are free to NOT read the posts, or to simply leave. Complaining about complainers is silly. DD
I know that Clutch is the moderator, I am not that ignorant. But again, I am not "whining", and just because I disagree with your opinions, and if someone else also disagrees with you on any given topic, does not mean that they should simply not read the posts or leave, it is slightly immaturish and self-centric to feel otherwise, don't you think? Complaining about complainers is not the same as DISCUSSING topics with differing opinions. The "my way or the highway" approach is not really the whole idea of the BBS, IMO. Anyways, sorry to diverge from the topic at hand, but sadly, again, there are many posters on the BBS who write similar things when they have no further points to make/discuss, and just feel compelled to divert the argument because they don't agree with it. Still, I respect you DD, but please lets get back to the topic, I won't reply to any further irrelevant points to the discussed topic. I wouldn't read/post on the BBS if I did not enjoy doing so as a Rockets fan, who like you and others has opinions on the team and other related topics. --Tiger
I find it ironic that a poster with 14,000+ mostly crappy posts has the audacity to complain about anyone else's posts.
I just think hiring Coach Van Gundy was a mistake. Every coach does what they are comfortable with. In Van Gundy's case he seems most comfortable with aging, slow, Eastern Conference cast-offs. Maybe in a playoff series this "system" can work, especially if McGrady wants to show off on a big stage, and Yao-Ming can show some intestinal fortitude, but I think here in the west it is going to be hard to even get to the playoffs, with so many players who are so slow afoot. Encouraging Rudy to seek greener pastures, might not have been a terrible move, he had obviously lost Steve and Cattino's ear, and I don't think "Team ISO" would have much more long term success than this one, but we picked the wrong horse. After a suitable interval (probably the end of the season) we need to cut our losses and move on, I just worry that the depleted roster will be tough on whoever coaches next.
TO DD AND TIGER: I used to be able to pee further than either one of you, now I just pee more often. Quit the pissing contest and be happy. But seriously folks, It is hard to tell who has the most influence on the trades made, is it JVG, is it CD, or is it Les? On the positive side enough old Knicks liked JVG well enough to come back to work for him. That says something for the guy. There has been a serious change in style the last couple of weeks. The problem IMO is still that there is no inspirational floor leader. Maybe Jon Barry will, who knows. Until we have one though, I just don't think we will have a chance to have a team.:
DD Dissent is good in every community and needed but when it takes a childish and infantile turn it is the civic obligation of whoever chooses to make sure that the power of dissent is not abused. It is not Clutch amd his crew power alone because they does not have all the time in the world for all of that. It fall you on the elders, sane or level headed ones to help out by using rational and facts to ward of unhelpful jabs. That said, don't you think that you are also violating the spirit of "freedom" that you "want to protect" by complaining about those complaining about the whiners? How ironic. I guess it has something to do with it going against your stance - in essense some kind psuedo favoritism and .......well let me not use that word. In these trying times, I applaud the efforts of folks like Clove, DoD, Tiggermission1 and a few others who, though they are not happy with what they are seeing are wise and patient enough to take it slowly and prudently.
Hey this is not kissing up - I mean it. I have always admired and enjoyed your contribution even when we are in disagreement. It will continue that way even if you say Fire JVG or trade Yao because I sense you are really a caring and sweet gent behind the username - you have alway been reasonable. Mad props to you DD. PS. Now let the diagreement continue ........KEEP JVG and give him some more time (like 3 more years)
LOL! Sorry guys, had to bring this thread back from the dead. It is back from the times we were still struggling. Now read through it to see what Old Man Rock, DD, and others had to say about JVG and the team. Here is a sample: Classic!
Tigermission You said that T-MAC needs to shoot at least 15-20 free throws a game and Yao needd to toughen the Fuc* up right away. Explain to me how a player can get 20 free throws every game and how a mild-mannered guy can become a thug or enforcer.
this is pretty funny, sure hope u guys love sucking crow, cause that's about what your opinions are good for right now. JVG for coach of the YEAR...
I think the coach has more to do with the trades then the gm/owner. Look at the complete 360 of the players in our team vs a year ago. This is why I like JVG, I knew he could surround our stars with better players then RT. Look what happened to RT and the Lakers =/
you cant blame what happened to RT in la, the gm there was a total idiot by trading shaq and receiving no all-star in return. then with what he was left he rudy actually made it work somehow. rudy didnt have time/given a chance to put any real effort into molding the club whatever its kobe's problem now
a complete 360 would mean we are still going in the same direction....yes? I would think you mean a complete 180...that would mean a turnaround and going in a different direction.
LOL, it was worth a read for me at 2:50am. Man, most of this board was reading to hang JVG after 2 months! It's the loudmouths that leave all the evidence behind. People like me can say I've wanted to be patient the whole time.
