I'm happy I don't have to care whether or not he busts.

I wonder if anyone brought up the "2 years away from being 2 years away" line

Wait.....what? Did the season start without me knowing it? I thought this was SUMMER LEAGUE. He still has to get past Aaron Holiday.

Before summer league, I was skeptical as to how much Reed would be able to play NBA minutes this year.

Not skeptical anymore. He might not be better than Holiday in 10-20 minutes this year BUT I don’t think there will be a huge difference in the benefit in him getting legit minutes this year will pay off in the future.

It's kinda a red flag a guy his size forced his way to not get drafted by Atlanta because he only wants to play PF. It's never a great sign with a big defensive guy is shying away from bang with other big men.

As skinny as Chet was, he is a dog and isn't afraid to go up against anyone at any size, that's why he's so effective

It’s actually good for him to deny Atlanta. Had he been picked #1, he’d been under more scrutiny and bigger pressure.

Not going to lie, I’m one of those no’s in that poll. So far in summer league, he’s proven me wrong. Happy to be wrong!

Historically #2 picks turn into busts more than any top 5 pick positions, especially those raw big men with supposedly high potential. It's almost like the pick is cursed.

Sure. I’m just saying, if he did end up a bust, being picked #1 would be a whole lot worse.

I like badcoachlee. He's literally always wrong, but he is entertaining and takes his 100% misses in stride.

You guys might want to hold up on the celebrations until Sheppard actually garners minutes on a regular. That doesn't happen during summer league.
I never once said Reed was not a good player. I only mentioned that we have other players playing in his position that he would have to pass before he gets to see the floor.
I know you all are busting at the seams ready to get back at ol' Coach but I have yet to be proven wrong. I will say at the pace hes playing at now it is possible he may be able to crack the rotation earlier than expected.

“Reed Sheppard will never see the floor.” are your own words.

    Back tracking much?

I don't think anyone is worried about him "cracking the rotation" as you put it multiple times. He will be able to do that in due time.

The SL is literally just an exhibition league that allows us to see and the players to show, how well their game translates to the NBA and the players around them. I feel like everyone is championing Reed because of how well he's been able to perform against competition that is both at his current level within this stage of his career and also others with that much more.

All-in-all, the guys can hoop and that's really all we were worried about netting (a hooper) with the #3 overall pick.
