Sarr is not known for his scoring prowess. He was always touted as a defensive specialist. A person not known as a scorer having a bad game in SL doesn't say anything. Whitmore, a scorer, made one more shot than Sarr did. Is he on his way to bustville also? Let us not be petty.

Yah, he needs to work on that offense and be able to do something on that end. He's the #2 pick...you can't be just a specialist on one side of the court only. It's still extremely early, but he's looking like a bust drafted #2 if he keeps this up.

Sarr just needs to find out he's not a stretch forward. He's a C. His jumper will be fine in a couple of years, he just has to work on it. Defensively he's everything that was promised and that was always going to be the biggest part of the formula very similar to JJJ.

JJJ can shoot 3s if he had a broke shot he would be seen as a bust.

Shame we couldn't land this generational prospect.

He could still figure it out and be a good player, but he's a classic body that has never demonstrated any significant skill for the game. Massive bust rate on players like that. I was always happy we had to "settle" for the guy that actually knows how to play basketball.

Who was the poster who said Stone was unprofessional because he said he'd take Shepard over Sarr?

We have the deepest C lineup in the league taking a big whether thats Sarr or Clingan never made any sense to me.

Whats crazy to me is Sarr and Clingan dont even know how to score inside via layups or post play. The wizards vs portland was comedy gold they made Nfaly Dante look like Hakeem.

I mean the guy was not even a star in the Australian league. It should be obvious despite great measurables (height, quickness, etc...) he is destined to be a bust. I am glad the Wizards took him though letting the best player in the draft, Reed, slide to us.

For comparison: Reed, an elite 3pt shooter, has not shot more than 6 threes in each of the 3 games so far. lol

    Generational talent, according to Mathloon.

All he needs to do is learn how to play basketball.

He is only three years away from being three years away.

    And glynch wrong, as always.

Agree with this 100%. Sarr will be fine. The point with him wasn’t that he would be his team’s savior, it’s that he will likely be the most versatile player scheme wise in the league because he can guard up or down and he will at some point have enough of a skill set to hit 3s, take guys off the dribble, and finish at the rim.

To your point - SL favors guys who can run and gun(normally guards)…let’s not forget how much Jabari struggled in year one of SL and Wemby had a 2-13 game as well. Sarr is showing the defensive skills already - but they aren’t the type of things that pop up in the box score. It’s a shame people embarrass themselves saying stupid things that expose their poor understanding of context.

It is not his poor showing in summer league that shapes my opinion rather what he did or rather did not do prior to being drafted. I believe if he was going to be a great player it would have already been on display. He couldn't even start on his Australian league team. As @AroundTheWorld stated earlier he is three years away from being three year away. Being tall and athletic does not make one a good basketball player even though he may look the part. Perhaps he can stick around as a backup defensive specialist because I see that as his true ceiling.
