Sarr’s biggest problem outside of no feel, no iq, is that he is soft as charmin and has no motor, that’s because he doesn’t like basketball he’s just tall. That’s a killer combo for a big.
Nah, wait until they retire before judging them. Jalen Green can still be MJ. I'll let you know in a few years
I can't believe some people actually wanted us to give up assets to move up to get this dud. That would be a triple whammy drafting a dud, losing assets to draft the dud, and most importantly losing out on the chance to best the best player in the draft aka Reed Sheppard.
A lot of potential....as soon as he learns to actually play basketball and realizes the different level of effort required. Classic example of a body who has never been challenged or had to actually work to have success because his physical tools accomplish so much. That s**t don't fly in the NBA where impressive tools are the norm and not the exception. Thrilled that we didn't end up with this massive project and likely bust.
I don't know what he's done to lose so much trust, the majority of his moves have been good. I think there's Rockets fans baking in the "reports" of potential trades out there (like the rumor Jalen + picks for Bridges thing that was never proven true) or players we like (like the Clingan buzz which was clearly smokescreen) into their opinion of him instead of looking at his actual moves. He should be judged on moves actually made and they've been mostly all good, and even the few questionable ones haven't particularly hurt us bad The next phase of this team is the most important one and where he will really earn his stripes, but he's absolutely earned me trusting him to lead us into it
I thought he would be the 2nd best fit on the Rox, after Reed. No definitive statements yet, of course, but it sure looks like we got the kid we needed and wanted.
Didn’t get the hype for this guy. I’m Australian and our league sucks ass. Even Zhou Qi had a season where he put up better stats than Sarr.
Darko was supposed to be the better Pau Gasol, Bargnani the next Dirk, Beasley the next KD, every short-statured shooter the next Curry, and now two underwhelming afro-frenchmen taken after Wemby. These guy's aren't very creative.
I'm glad some of you didn't get your way and the Rockets give up assets to go all-in on bringing in Sarr. Stick with your day jobs.
Sarr will be a very good defender - he can switch really well. The problem is that he is an awful offensive player - his hands are as strong as a toddlers, he hates contact, doesn't feel confident he can lay it up inside and he also cannot shoot. So basically he can defend and pass.... they have to hope he becomes a Joakim Noah type player, but he doesn't seem to like the game as much as Noah did.
Maybe we can send out Sengun for Sarr to be the rim running lob threat we've lacked sicne Bruno left.
