I didn't say that I agreed with him, but he certainly would know better than either of us. It wouldn't take too much time in the locker to get an impression that the two don't like each other and by the way he reacted to the question, I'd say those two do not get along. Even though he wasn't an integral part of the team, he certainly spent enough time around the players and talked to them on a daily basis. Thus, I think its pretty fair that he could have heard from other players that Ron and Tracy have problems with each other. That off the court trouble can easily manifest itself on the court, such as choosing not to pass the ball to that player, not helping on defense to make the other player look worse, etc. I hope they can put their issues behind them and dominate but it doesn't look great...
he was still present in a lot of practices, especially early on when both ron and tmac were playing and he was present at a lot of games in street clothes.
First of all I never said he was in the D-League all year. Learn to read. Dorsey may have some idea of what's going on with this team, but I'd imagine he knows less than just about anybody. I would also like to know when Dorsey became an NBA GM because he seems to know that Ron and Tracy can't work on the floor together, when Morey thought they could thrive. What I'd really like to know is how Ron feels about Joey laughing about his big payday. If I was playing I'd take more offense to that than anything that went on with T-Mac who was injured. People seem to forget he was injured and like to say he just quit. We had a chance for a championship run, but our poor health bit us in the ass. It happens. I just find it kind of weird that this poster is backtracking on some of his comments, and I also find it very weird that he would be so forthcoming with a complete stranger. Trust me, if T-Mac were to leave, Joey would probably be the last on the team to know.
That is exactly what I thought after watching film. The mechanics of his 3 point shot didn't look automatic. He has a low delivery and awkward. Also in the highlights of his shots , they mostly weren't swishers and he was right on the college 3. So even though he shoots at a good percentage it doesn't look refined and I question whether it will carry over to the NBA. But shooting and defense are 2 of the easiest things to improve in the league and I see no reason why he won't be able to with us. Especailly since he will not be asked to do much in the beginning.
Heh, guess Dorsey isn't thinking about a career as an agent. Imagine this: Ron: I want $12 million a year, think you can get me an deal? Agent (laughing): Hell, no. Ron: (proceed to beat the hell out of agent). Then again, if Dorsey's that agent, I'm not sure Ron would try to beat him... or be favored to win that fight.
He just posted his conversation with Dorsey. Fact or fiction, it's one poster's opinion. We don't have to get uptight at what the poster or what Dorsey might or might not have said. It's not the end all, be all.
Did he walk like he had sore feet? (and Ron already told me he would sign for 4 yrs/ $37 million so that $12 million dollar ship has sailed)
Dorsey is the 1 player who has been around the staff the most as of late. I do not believe they gave him inside info of who they would pick but I am sure he was there on friday working out and got the skinny on the new rookies. So what he said sounds very believable. As for Ron being upset that's stupid. What Ron wants and what he gets are 2 very diferent things and if he is not careful he will screw up a chnce at another 40 million for his career and go they way of Bonzi and Sprewell. Also if there is 1 person who can say what thet want about any other player and not worry about consequesnces it is Dorsey. Now whether this guy is making this up. You can believe what you want but I tend to believe stories like this from people who don't post alot but aren't newbies and offer up details.
i3artow i3aller, I don't really know what you want me to say. I brought this info no less than 10 minutes after meeting him. I never said that these were the views I espoused, but this is simply what Joey Dorsey had to say. If you disagree, fine. I don't care one bit. Joey probably doesn't know whether or not Tracy and Ron can coexist in a basketball sense as well as Daryl, you are right. But I thought it was an interesting piece of information, and I know that some people on this site would appreciate it. I never said anything about him being in the D-League all year and never said anything about Tracy quitting. You seem to be the only one with your panties in a bunch, trying to prove that this relatively inconsequential story is "fake." As for Joey "laughing" about Ron's big payday, again I can't control his reactions to questions. I'm sure Ron thinks he's worth 12 million but clearly a lot of people don't. Lastly, as to why he "opened up" to a complete stranger. I don't know, maybe he was happy to have a fan come up and appreciate his hard work so he actually talked with me.
What "film" are you referring to? I haven't been able to find much video of his shooting and would really like to see it. Based on what I've seen so far, I haven't noticed any issues with his form.
I never said anything about Aaron being gone, he didn't really reply to that question. Also, i3artow i3aller, I never "backtracked" on any of my comments. I only cleared up something you were confused about.
Sounds legit to me. Dorsey was probably just laughing cause he knows Ron won't get 12 mil for a multi year deal...but it would have been stupid for Ron not to ask. Sounds like he's got Von's back. If Tracy is gone, and we keep our draft picks, then that is just more competition to make Von play his best, and injury insurance. Remember, competition breeds excellence.
If ron is asking for 12 million then ron can find a new team. I don't want to see the rockets pay 12 million for a player who is declining and is an offensive stopper.
