You do realize you easily make the case that the only player who really needs to get better on our team is the rookie 5th round pick QB who threw us out of the game. The Ravens had absolutely zero real drives against our D, they scored on the short field. So to take the team to the next level we need our rookie QB to not be a rookie or..........just get back the near All-Pro level QB that went down with a foot injury. Our team had really zero weaknesses. A better WR2 option and better second cornerback (hopeful for more development with Jackson, which is nice considering I thought of him as pretty much a complete bust last year) would be nice, but aren't needs.
He has fumbled for 6 weeks straight. Luckily most were covered up by himself or teammates. He must solve his fumbling issue but I think he'll be at or around 1400 yds. We don't need him to bust 2000 or even 1600, it's what he does in the playoffs that counts. Therefore, getting him there fresh & healthy numero uno.
Agreed. His fumbling troubles me more than a little, but what he brings to the table FAR outweighs any ball security issues. Peterson had/has the same issue, but any team would pick him up in a heartbeat. It's also helpful to have a reliable backup or two (assuming Ward is back next year) so that it isn't too costly to bench him if the fumbling becomes a big issue.
