I can picture it now. A Subway kid on a bike roaming your neighborhood. "I want my one dollar! Mister, I need that dollar. One dollar! Veggie a dollar more!" Hell...give me a bike. I'll do it. Where you at?
It not like I was yelling or raising my voice. I simply said I don't understand why the order can't be entered in as a turkey sandwich so I can get be charged as anyone else would. She responded "I understand what you're saying, but its the computer". She looked around at other employees, they shrugged, and she called the manager over. He repeated the same line, I insisted that the policy didn't make sense to me, and he eventually agreed to give me the discount this time. I tried to be civil about it. Another thing: If you look at the actual default pricing of the sandwiches, the Veggie Delite is the cheapest one, because its like everything else but without the meat. If the Veggie Delite was some sort of special sandwich which cost more to prepare, you'd think that would be reflected in the default pricing but it isn't.
I'm sure you guys are too young to have ever seen this clip, but it is a young Jack Nicholson classic from Five Easy Pieces: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/6wtfNE4z6a8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
That should be taken up with mgmt/corporate headquarters so that they can adjust the pricing accordingly. But yeah, i understand what youre saying. I just think it's a waste of time and effort to argue over that $1. It isnt as if they made a mistake in pricing. The company knows that it's ripping customers off. Like complaining about paying more for iced coffee.
Next time do what everyone else said repetitively. If they try to make things difficult, tell them to throw the meat in the bag because you like it on the side (after they wrap the sandwich). I hope your dog isn't a vegetarian. Your posts remind me of Matt bullard's commentary.
Yeah I think you were wrong..... The sale for was a different product than that you ordered.... Sometimes stores run sales for better things for less money but that does not mean that I can go pick out something of worst quality and expect them to sell it for the price of the sale just because its worst quality. Example.... I walk into best buy and order a Dynex 32 inch tv that rings up for $300.... And then I'm like, what why? The Sony is on sale for 289.99 and I dont like Sony so why cant you just sell this Dynex to me for sale price..... See.... WRONG..
Champ. Now ride my coattails. Back on topic, i think its worth a shot. If they say anything then drop it and pay the dollar. Only reason im on your side is because i see plenty of fats load up on veggies and they dont get charged anything.
On a related note, are you expected to tip at Subway? I noticed some of these places have tip jars and the sandwich artist scowls at you if you don't leave a tip.
I had the same thing happen to me about 8 years ago. Manager didn't want to change the price. So I told him I was going to send a complaint to City of Houston health inspector and magically it became 5 dollars. http://www.houstontx.gov/health/Food/index.html
I usually tip whatever coins they give me back. A dollar or two more if they're especially helpful/friendly or my order was difficult. They're usually not helpful though, especially at Subway.
It's pretty simple. You pay more for your Veggie Delight because you will pay more for your Veggie Delight. At least, this was the case until today.
ugh, i hate the tip jar. it seems every place has them now...subway, starbucks, shipley's, etc. they're getting minimum wage. i'm not paying extra.
Right. That made a lot of sense... This isn't about loading up on veggies. That is clearly withIn the parameters of sandwich ordering at subway. Op should just ask for meat on the side as stated many times before.
No one said meat on the side they said hold the meat. Im worrell and your just repeating what i said. It does make sense considering anyone can go in there and order a blt and get unlimited vegetables, but bacon is extra on a veggie delight. Subway sucks, dont eat there its unsanitarry. Just ask anyone who works there how they clean things up. Before you counter this think of how easy it would be to counter your counter-argument.
Spell/type much? Op asked if he was wrong. Answer is yes and no. His logic is right but expecting that price every time is wrong.
Im on my ipad so..... He is right if he orders it right. If they want to make a fuss about it give them the dollar. They most likely wont because they're not paid enough to care. A veggie delight is still just any sandwich at subway minus the meat.
