I was first questioning the lady working at the register. She then called over the manager, and it was him I eventually convinced to give me the discount. Also, in case people are wondering, there wasn't anyone right behind me waiting on this. If it so happened that I would inconvenience others in the line, I wouldn't have bothered. Also, like Yoyo said, ordering a meat sandwich and then removing the meat once it has touched the rest of the sandwich is not an option for me. Next time, I'll order whatever sandwich is on the special and ask them to hold the meat. Hopefully they don't object.
I was at this pizza place once and this guy got into an argument with the manager because there were no pictures of black people on the wall.
After reading 5 pages, I still don't understand why Dru was so upset. So there is the special, but Dru didn't order it. He instead ordered something else and told the subway kid that thing should be the same as the speical for a $1 less than what's in the system for that thing. Why can't Dru just order the special???? Oh, brother. Personally, I am upset everytime I spend $5, $6 in subway. It's $5 of crap, pure wasted and I am like this With that money, you can buy a pound of chicken drums, 12 eggs, some fresh veggies and changes.

The thing is, a Veggie Delight is literally nothing but whatever was in the special minus the meat. I was surprised they objected at all. If I knew it was going to take the extra minute for them to give me the discount, I probably would have just let it go.
if that dude is the owner, hes a idiot and setting a bad precedent for his employee who will use this as an example to go by everytime someone wants a discount. perhaps another customer orders a daily special without the veggies and asks for a discount because its only meat.
If you get the BLT (I think it's still $5) all you have to do is remove the bacon. But who hates bacon?
i'm not a "veggie" but i'm with durvasa on this. although i understand it's not the cashier's job to correct it, it shouldn't be that complicated. a sandwich without meat should always cost less than one with meat, unless the portions of veggies are twice as much as a meat sandwich. in subway's case, it's not. why do i need to pay a premiumm for basically nothing.
Ok, I see. Yeah, but that's their menu and price and they can ask for whatever hell they want, right. So they may promote for non-veggie sandwich precisely because they want to attract non-veggie eaters, i.e. not you. In that light, see, they have a reason for doing that. I am now actually surprised the kid at subway let you get your way.
Its not the same thing. There is no extra discount for veggie-less sandwiches on the menu specified on the menu. There is, however, a discount for turkey+veggie sandwiches on the menu, and I'm just asking them to hold the turkey. I don't get why that should be a problem. At the very least, Subway should set aside a day where they make a Veggie Delight the special.
Count me as I don't agree veggie people can just remove the meat. Morally and maybe taste wise it's not the same. Can't you guys be a little sensitive?
