This student on the news named "Andrew" said he was walking down 21st street when he heard 4 gunshots followed by 2 more shots. Then he said he actually saw the gunman in the window wearing a black skimask and he just smiled at Andrew and his girlfriend. News also confirmed that one gunman is dead (I guess that confirms theres a second one).
There was a gunman, who shot himself, in the PCL. Just heard Chief Acevedo on the radio - he said they suspect there could be a second gunman, but nothing has been confirmed. They are doing a sweep of the entire campus, and have locked everything down. They have asked that if you are on campus, to stay in whatever room you've been locked in until you hear otherwise. If you are not on campus, they have asked that you stay away until further notice.
This is really confusing and doesn't add up. Automatic weapon in a library? Multiple shots fired? Extra gunmen? Skimasks? None of this indicates suicide.
I'm sure there are people that thinks it's safe if they go outside and take a peak. Not the smartest decision makers, but this does happen often. I've never been to the UT campus (maybe as a young kid, but don't remember) but is the library that close to the dorms and apts?
Been hearing sirens all morning. I live right off campus. I was at the pcl yesterday as well. With only 1 guy though, unless I was within direct distance, unblocked from the shooter, i would have tried to escape if I was on the 6th floor.
Smoking mar1juana? In my dorm? They would redirect the SWAT teams straight to my room and have the helicopters have a spotlight straight through my window.
http://tinyurl.com/utshooting No, it doesn't. One gunman being dead doesn't confirm there is a second one. It just means there is a dead gunman. Reports are reports.
Yall need to hide yo kids, hide yo wife, and hide you husband. It's sad that people are still debating whether to go to class or not, since the possibility of some ******* with a gun on campus is no big deal
I think implied might have been a better word. Anyway, just heard the news say that the only reason why there are 2 suspected gunmen is because of conflicting witness reports. So it's probably all good right now.
The suspect probably just wanted to go out (commit suicide) in a meaningful manner. If he legitimately wanted to hurt a lot of people, he would not have decided to go into the PCL at 8 am.
Agreed. If he wanted to kill people, he would have waited until ~10AM and waited for class to end. Seas of people walking at that 4 way intersection outside of PCL/Jester.
