One time I ate frog legs in Mexico, no really I did. I wouldn't goto Mexico. America is dangerous enough for me.
The area I went to was very safe. Leon, Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende. I even went to Mexico City and had zero problems. Walked around day and night was fine. Rode the infamous Metro. Sometimes it's sad that perception becomes what people really think. Go for yourself and see. Next is Rio for me. Another "dangerous" city. After that Caracas.
My sister's in Mexico doing a study abroad right now in Merida. Luckily it's away from the drug cartel/border towns and so far so good through almost 6 weeks. She'll be coming safely home this Sunday
I hear if you whip your penis out and wash it in the sink for other people to see they will bow before you knowing you have been with WHITE girls.
merida is a very nice city - not much to do there imo, but its very chill. id compare it to san antonio in that respect. dont worry, she couldnt have gotten into too much trouble down there! lots of cool daytrips to make from there though - mayan ruins/cenotes/caves.
It depends on where you visit. I have family in Reynosa and the war zone that the media portrays is very real down there and even possibly understated. Most people down there are afraid to report what is going on and that includes the media. If someone visited the USA and visited San Francisco they would certainly have a different impression then if they had visited Queensbridge in NYC. Get my drift.
Ya I know what you mean but I think people when they read those headlines judge the whole of Mexico that way when it is certain areas. That's all I was saying.
I agree...having been there myself and when first hearing the media reports, I certainly had been conditioned not to even consider it...but c'mon, everywhere has the potential to be dangerous, some more than others, and yes, even in America...just use common sense and keep a low profile...
