Thanks CrazyDave for the tip. I might just do that. I really didn't mean for this thread to be a "PC vs. Mac" argument, but I guess I didn't realize there were so many PC fanboys on here. Personally, I was one of them, until I actually got this first Mac, and was suprised how easier it was to use than a PC. And it's true, once you go Mac, you never go back.
you're right. he only said that mac helped popularize the graphics user interface and it helped microsoft decide on taking the risk of going into that direction. So, depends on your opinion of intellectual property but being a Windows and Mac OS user i could definitely see the similarities and notice the updated features such as search and spotlight which came out on OSX before windows. I am not saying Windows7 is crap either(havent used win7) or that OSX is the end all. I have my issues with Snow Leopard and my iMac G5 crapped out on me b/c of cheap faulty capacitors. but if i am DJing live i'm more comfortable using my MacBook more so than my Asus or Dell running XP Pro and Vista. this is a thread about what apps the OP should be using on his new macbook. not whether you're a PC or Mac person. which i am guilty of ignoring as well. @OP: VLC plays almost anything, Transmission (torrents), DiskAid (for moving files to/from iPhone) @dharocks: making who look bad? im not a mac fanboy nor am i a PC fanboy. i use whatever suits me at any given time.
It's funny how this: became this: The worst part of the internet is people presenting opinions as facts.
heck, I know my way around computers more than most people. Been using Windows machines all my life until I used a Mac for maybe 4 months. Now, my next machine will be a Mac. In 4 months I have become a convert.
use idrive for backups, movie player the default one is fine front row, azerues for torrents. if you still need it or have you sold it after all these hate messages lol.
You know nothing about a computer. Can't even differentiate between an OS and or PC or Apple computer or understand a hardware with your rambling.
Apple hater? I'm just calling you out on that stupid rambling on how I see it. You should take a look at your earlier post because that got to be one of the stupidest comments about a PC vs Apple I've ever encounter.
Maybe you should find a piece of technology you like and promote it, instead of trolling around in Apple threads like an obsessed loser trying to convince people who actually like their product choice how wrong they are for liking something you don't. And maybe while you're out searching for something to actually like you can pick up an English textbook or two, because your constant butchering of the language is headache inducing. You have a sad, monolithic existence on this BBS that we would almost all be better off not having to deal with.
For the average user, what makes Apple's OS so much easier to use? I have both operating systems at my house, and it amazes me when people say this. 90% of computer users surf the web and check email. So is it that much easier to click on an icon on Mac's OS vs a PC?
Ask yourself, what is the point of your posting in Apple threads? What do you hope to accomplish? This is a thread where someone asked for help with their new Mac product. What exactly are you doing here? Think hard about your answer.
