They got Shane ****ing Battier for that pick. They didn't give it away. Of course it matters. Battier is better than Miles, has less problems, is more durable, can actually shoot the ball, and makes less money. Hell, Jerry West had refused to trade Battier for years even in deals involving Artest and Curry while Portland has been trying to give away Miles with no taker this whole offseason. To say that the Rockets would be better off taking Miles than Battier is pure ignorance. As far as equal value, his value is negative. Period. Either you take back something equally more more negative back for him or else you have to package him with assets to move his ass.
Why do I want the rockets to trade for Miles to recieve a malcontent primadonna with an even worse contract than Juwon. I would have taken on Miles if it netted us Morrison or Roy, but otherwise I would much rather have JHo and watch Miles make a bigger ass of himself than he already has.
No one is goona take Juwan even if Rockets are gonna give him away. Atleast no team that wants to win. Need to just dump him and suck up his salary. Atleast that way he wont be hurting the Rckets on the floor. Career Loser.
Yes, I know it mattered, but they handled Rudy as if it didnt matter. The Rockets should've probably made Juwan a condition if Jerry West wanted him that badly instead of throwing Stro in for nothing at all. Maybe sign and trade Wright. I know Battier is a better player than Miles, and im not against Battier. As a player and what he can bring to this team I like. We'll never know who else they could've had either because they shipped the #8 off so fast. I dont think the team is better off with Miles but as I said to get rid of Juwan, and maybe keeping a guy like Head and a 1st round pick you may have to take a deal as such, or something less like expirings from Zeke
This has been such a long off season, I can't remember how much Juwan sucked. Maybe someone should post a video on how much he sucks so the rest of us can remember
It is surprising that quite many fans of other teams find Juwan quite good player. Probably some managers would think that too and take a bait. Has anyone anything to prove that Rockets even has intensions to trade Juwan or is it just us?
At least the Rockets have cleared off almost all of their bad contracts. We're not even paying Maloney any more. When Juwan Howard at 3 years, 21 million is your worst contract, you don't have a lot of "dead money", compared to a lot of other NBA teams. Now Darius Miles, that's a bad contract. Portland has even considered cutting him out right, since there are no takers.
Juwan Howard is our only option at PF outside a few Shane Battier sightings. I hate to say this, but as long as we don't make a move for another PF, he's staying, and to the end. Some of you guys would trade Juwan for anything: Jerome James, Torraye Braggs, DJ Mbenga, Olden Polynice, Pavel Podkolzen, Vitaly Potapenko, Vin Baker, Half Man Half Amazing, Calvin Booth, Rebecca Lobo, Tina Thompson, Marv Albert.
The Rockets have made probably close to two dozen player moves SINCE we acquired JHo. Don't you think we would have moved him if we could. btw, JVG is on record as stating that we need a PF that can hit open shots even out to the 3pt line. He never said we need a banger. Just throwing that in there. I don't mind JHo but I can't wait until he is gone so we can stop hearing everybody piss and moan about him on this BBS.
Who knows? Maybe Juwan's our backup 5 as well as token 4, until we find a taker. Juwan Howard can probably be moved, given the right situation. Certainly CD and Morey have been exploring the option. They tried to trade Juwan for Derek Anderson, before we got him for next to nothing (thank goodness for that, although we'd be looking at an expiring contract if the trade had gone through, rather than still wondering what to do with Juwan). Scenarios for trading Juwan? Send him to a young team to mentor the kiddies. The kiddies will kick in as Juwan retires. Darius Miles or Zach Randolph (with a lot of Luther Head and other contracts thrown in) Trade him with Tracy McGrady (Charlotte? wherever) and take back a little less as a result (i.e., Healthy McGrady = Top 5 talent in the league; add Juwan, not as palatable but we'll deal with it, etc etc)
This whole JH for Darius Miles is nutso. Miles is so radioactive the Blazers have no chance of dumping him. I guess because people are familiar with JH and don't follow Miles very closely is why this idea persists. I'll just give this reminder: Miles is a 6 year veteran who still has very few offensive skills, no 3pt shot (he's actually WORSE than Tony Parker), has blown up on 2 very different styled coaches, has 4yrs & $34MM left on his contract and may have a serious problem with alcohol. The bottom line is he could be the most unstable player in the whole NBA. Despite this, some want to trade JH for Miles. If you ask me, Miles is a lot more "cursed" than JH and it's because of his own doing. This guy's worst flame out is yet to come and I don't want it to happen here.
i think we can get a pair of sunglasses taken away if we let him go. Juwan -3,500,000 Sunglasses -215 Those sunglasses kill the deal.
I swear, some of you must not have watched a single Rox game last year because if you had, you would have seen that JHo is a consummate professional who brings his A game every single night. I will not stand up and say that his A game is as good as the premiere PFs in the league, but some of you must have forgotten (or never knew in the first place) that we won a freaking championship with Chucky Freaking Brown and Carl Hererra as our PFs. JHo might not be a fantastic PF, but he is solid, missed a grand total of two games last year, and was money from 18'. I agree that if we were to be able to trade him for a solid upgrade, we should make a move, but suggesting we get rid of a solid veteran leader for nothing is the height of stupidity.
The only way this thread could have been any dumber was for someone to suggest making Badiane the starter at PF.......
