I ahve to say tha his passing ability is clearly good so he has that going for him besides the rim protector ability. We have Alpi who is equally good at passing if not better so I dont think we really need that in our team. The rim protection can be had cheaper for limited minutes in free agency so I want sharp shooting with Reeds.
It’s hard to find legit SHOT BLOCKERS! Clingan give us a legit rim runner and shot blocker. He only needs to play 10-13 minutes per game. If you draft Clingan, you are the Timberwolves 2.0…..but you would need another big man who can shoot. Towns is a good shooter for a big man so the twin towers worked. Memphis want him because Jared Jackson is a good shooter. Jabari would work well with Clingan because he is a good shooter(not great). Sengun needs to develop a consistent outside shot at the free throw line area. Remember, Clingan is 7’3 and 285 lbs! Not many men on this earth is 7’3 and 285 lbs and play in the NBA and coordinated athletically. Clingan would dominate most center because he is so big and if the defense has there Center covering Clingan, Sengun would dominate any power forward in the league because of his low post moves, elite passing and his dribbling skills. Drafting Clingan would make our team dominant in the paint and we must not forget Steven Adams who is a great rebounder and screeners. Guys we can trade or get a good shooter in FREE AGENCY. We need to draft Clingan! Clingan, with Jabari and Tari on the wings and Amen at the top as the point guard…seriously?! After drafting Clingan, I would trade Jalen, Dillion, picks and swaps for Donovan Mitchell. Donovan, Sengun and Jabari would be our big three and we could take on Denver, Minnesota and Dallas. Reserves like Amen Thompson, Tari,Clingan, Cam and Steven Adams would make us elite. Draft Clingan and trade for Donovan and we will contend.
So, you want to DRAFT his last name (Clingan) and TRADE for his first name (Donovan)?? Seriously, he is something we don't currently have, a shot blocking presence. I think a lineup of Clingan, Jabari, Tari, Brooks, Green and Thompson could be LOCKDOWN! I doubt the Rockets draft him because they are looking for NBA Ready talent.
How will Amen, Mitchell, Green, Cam penetrate with Sengun and Clingan parked inside. Adams is 30 yrs old. He will likely be more effective than Clingan for 3 years. Sign him to a modest extension and allocate that pick elsewhere.
Like Fury once said he is a big stiff idiot. He's only slightly faster than Boban. Adem Bona is better than this guy. Only 6'9 but he is an athletic freak. Incredible footspeed for a 5. He looks quite promising around the rim i mean he has some scoring potential also probably grows an inch or so. Ware probably is better than Clingy too. I hope the baldy doesn't make that mistake.
