TO GOLDEN STATE: Tracy McGrady Rafer Alston Bob Sura TO HOUSTON: Jason Richardson Baron Davis I would do that deal in a minute. TMAC will never win in this league ...ever.. the guy has the heart of a fat free wheat thin....i.e. NONE....
Wesley and Swift for Carlos Boozer Brings rebounding that we thought swift would... Moochie Norris and a 2nd rounder for Morris Peterson Gets Toronto out from his contract lets them continue youth movement and gives us another guard who can score at a decent clip. and create his own shot.
I got bored and started messing with that link for real gm. Here is a huge trade that I came up with. I dont think it will ever happen but it seems to make us younger and fits within the CBA. The trade ID is 2688416. Here goes: Houston gives up J. Howard, D. Wesley, and R. Alston Houston recieves W. Simien, R. Felton Miami gives up A. Walker, J. Kapono, and W. Simien Miami recieves J. Howard, and G. Wallace Charlotte gives up G. Wallace, R. Felton, and J. Voskuhl Charlotte recieves A. Walker, D. Wesley, D. Fortson, and R. Swift Seattle gives up D. Fortson and R. Swift Seattle recieves J. Kapono, R. Alston, and J. Voskuhl Now, I know this seems very complicated and everything but I was bored and just messing around. Nothing really serious.
GATER, this is supposed to be a fun thread. Actually, I liked your idea. Here's something about Ely from BobcatsBasketball.com, in their review of how some of their players did last season: When injuries kept those starters out of the lineup in February, Ely rose to the occasion. He started nine games in their place and averaged 14.1 points, 8.9 rebounds and 2.22 blocked shots. In 17 overall starts this season, Ely averaged almost 13 points while grabbing eight boards and rejecting two shots an outing. “I’ve never had that chance before – to be able to start games and play through mistakes,” said Ely. “To be able to go out there and just play basketball was a feeling that I’ve been missing for two years now.” In that same stretch, he led the team in scoring and rebounding three times and established a new career high with a 22-point showing at Seattle on February 5. Just days after that, there was another career best as he snagged 17 rebounds at Indiana. Compare those numbers with what he had been limited to as a reserve and it’s easy to see why Ely is thankful. By season’s end, he had almost doubled the scoring output he averged in Los Angeles to 7.3 points, all because Bobcats General Manager & Head Coach Bernie Bickerstaff gave him a chance to play. “To fill in a starter’s place and basically put up almost identical numbers is something that I was trying to do,” said Ely. “Not many people can come in and do the same thing that the starters are doing. I’m grateful to coach for the opportunity, and I just hope that more opportunities come my way.” It wasn’t just playing time that Ely found in Charlotte, but also the style of basketball that suits him best. With a 6-10, 261-pound frame and a love of playing in the paint, he likes playing in the East, where bruising, “old school” basketball rules. “In the East you can shoot an elbow or two, but when you get hit you better not go crying,” he said. “It’s almost like old school basketball, like the old Pistons. They call me old school because of my moves, like the jump hook or a runner. “Western Conference basketball is finesse, more jumpers. They’ve got dominant bigs, but they’re not physical. I think most of the physical players are in the East, especially the addition of big Shaq. I like it out here being physical.” http://www.nba.com/bobcats/review_ely_050518.html Ely sounds intriguing, and cheap, assuming a deal was made. Looks like a great big man to have towards the end of the bench. I like what I read about him.
Since this is just for fun: Speedy Claxton for Reefer Madness straight up SC is in the last year of his deal, and RA is locked up to a decent contract and would be an above average back up. SC is VERY quick and provides energy and defense. DWesley and a couple of second rounders for MoPete. I am hoping that Toronto would be interested in DWes for his expiring contract. Juwana howard, Stro Swift, Deke and a first rounder for Troy Murphy, Adonal Foyle and Pietrus. I know, I know Foyle's contract is HORRIBLE, but I think this is the only possible way to get TMurph, plus Pietrus could be a nice add in for us. This free's up GS from Foyle's contract and Deke's and DAs contract expire after this season so they would have some cap flexibility plus the first rounder to play with. Honestly Deke has not played very well for us this season. Yao, Foyle TMurph, Baxter, Bowen Tmac, MoPete, Pietrus MoPete, Head, Pietrus Speedy, Head, Mooch
wesley for hassell. Hassell is a good defender on the perimeter. not one to go after steals but will stay in front of his man until he forces a tough shot. nice size lets him guard the 2 or 3. improving jumper out to 18 ft. minni may want to make room for mccants at the 2 while also getting out of hassell's long term deal with wesley's ending contract. throw in a second rounder or two if need be. ------------------------------------------ as for the rest of the deals: i don't tihnk we can get good value for swift right now. he isn't playing all that well. forget about trying to trade Jho or rafer's contract.
First of all, could you at least point out what trades you think are so horrible? I agree, some are. I'm just curious if they're the same as the ones you're thinking of. Second, I think the rolling eyes smiley makes people come across as being ass-holes even if they don't mean it. I'm curious if you were going for that effect or not.
I bet we could get Cato back. That doesn't look too bad right now. He'd be the starting power forward. I like Melvin Ely too. I do like Al Harrington as a 3. I think he's better than Ryan Bowen. Look, our team is crap. Swift is crap. Alston is crap. Howard is crap, and old. DA is crap, and old. Wesley is crap, and old. Moochie is double crap. Our keepers are old or oft injured. Luther Head is a bright spot . We aren't going to get star talent in trade unless they are dumping. So, don't go telling me the trade target isn't stunning and impressive - duh - we're lucky to get anything for that collection of "talent". If we get any real NBA players that can follow orders its a score. I'd be happy getting some players with a little bit better fit. Really, we should try to stockpile a few draft picks.
You are probably being a little harsh. Not doubt we are playing like crap, but that doesn't mean our guys have zero value on the market. Swift - He doesn't fit JVGs system - isn't smart enough. This doesn't mean he has zero trade value. He would probably fit better in system where the coach just lets the players play, ala Rudy. He has some trade value. DWes and DA, expiring contracts always have some trade value especially when the trade deadline approaches. Reefer - see Swift above. He has played well in other stops, just may not be the right fit here. Lots of teams can use PG or backup PGs. We wouldn't get a stud for him, but he probably has some trade value. Again, needs to be in a system that is more free flowing. I can guarantee you JVG WILL NOT stock pile picks. This guys wants to win and win now. Our team doesn't have a long window. T-mac is an old 25 and very large men like Yao haven't had the longest careers in the NBA.
What are we gonna give Charlotte and who else are they gonna send us with Ely, Rush??? Aren't we gonna have to throw in our first rounder in any deal?
