Here's the two for one that the rockets should consider:

Matt Bullard & Clyde Drexler for Calvin Murphy.

Would the Rockets consider trading T-Mac for Kevin Garnett?
Rockets are not going to part ways with Yao (why would you?) but why not T-Mac?
T-Mac is great basketball player, but he is not 100% healthy and never will be.
When he is not on the court we stink which has been too often and when he is on the court are a good team not a great team mainly b/c of his back problems. If it wasn’t for T-Mac’s back problems this thread would not exist. T-Mac cannot lead this team if he is on the bench waving a towel.
Minnesota just might be willing the pull the trigger on that deal b/c Garnett has often publicly criticized management and both maybe looking for a change of scenery.

Propose Trade: T-Mac & Stromile Swift for Garnett & Szczerbiak or Troy Hudson or T-Mac for KG straight up.

Can you imagine Yao & Garnett on the frontline? There will be more blocks shots, rebounds, second chance shots, and consistent wins. That is something to consider.

Do you have a clue how much money Garnett makes? Here's a hint...~$12M/yr more than McGrady. And you want to tack on Wally Z's $11m? Let's check our starting lineup...Yao, KG, Wally, Charlie Ward and a cardboard cutout.

And of course, VG will get accused of not using the cardboard cutout optimally.

If he's attained by the Rox, they'll have his bird rights. Rox could benefit from a sign and trade. Especially if it's the Bulls who are rumoured to be after him and they have the cap space to offer a max offer. So some picks, a SF (Nocioni or Deng), maybe even Gordon could be thrown in the package (depending on his relationship with the coach).

Luol Deng, Nocioni or Gordon for Harrington? Where in hell do I sign up? The Pacers got Stephen Jackson for him.

actually bottle rocket has a point, i've been thinking the same thing
if kg can be had for tmac, i'd prob consider it
only because i think tmacs back will be a continuing prob
and kg is the best or 2nd best player in the league

    can you say Twin Towers!?!

KG is a proven loser. If he were your best player your chance of winning a championship would be nada. TMAC > KG.

Obviously not Gordon, but Deng or Nocioni I could see them doing. Of course, if you were signing and trading Harrington for a big number the Bulls would have to add in another player. Would Othella Harrington + Deng work for a re-signed Al Harrington?

This is fun! Let's propose trades for players we haven't traded for yet.

How about Juwan + Wesley for Brad Miller + Brian Skinner

Wesley for Watson is a good idea. I was thinking about it today and you read my mind. I thought about DA instead of wesley being more attractive but DA is needed for the SF.

Problem with the second deal is that Harrington isnt going to fit in well at PF, he cant rebound for ****. We really dont get an upgrade.

and tracy is a proven winner?

no one can win by themselves. once the wolves were able to bring in some talent kg was the mvp and they finished #1 in the west on thier way to the WCF, only to lose because cassell and hudson were both injured and fred hoiberg was left with the PG duties.

just like when we had some talent last year around tracy he had his most successful year (51W).

if KG can get to the WCF with starters like sprewell, cassell, and kandi...just think about what he could do with YAO.

tmac and swift for KG and wally makes a lot of sence.

yao plays low post while KG plays high post. wally and head spread the floor on both sides. with rafer driving to the basket there are LOADS of opportunities to kick it out for a 3, PnR with KG or dump it into yao. no plays needed. perfect for JVG.

    Ok ok ok...

For those questioning the acquisition of Harrington because of his rebounding numbers, you have to consider the rest of his statline:

    nearly 17 points
    nearly 3.5 assists
    nearly 1.5 steals

Tack on 8+ rebounds per game for a guy that would also play backup SF if needed, and how can you say we don't improve? We need a third SCORER!!!

Then, going with what another poster said, we'll have his bird right when it comes to free agency next year. If he likes it here maybe we can sign him, but if not we can bait another team into a sign and trade. I like the Deng+Nocioni deal, but don't see that one happening because both of those guys have great potential.

We really, really need a guy who's going to eat glass and block shots. Juwan has never been that guy. We thought that Stro would be that guy, but it doesn't look good right now. Al ain't that guy either. You really need a Ben Wallace/Danny Fortson/Chris Anderson type to make up for Yao and Juwan's softness inside. Our scoring woes are mostly a result of TMac and Alston being out. I think the Memphis game was an aberration.

Harrington is a FA at the end of the season.

It makes little sense to trade for a guy who could very well walk at season's end unless it was a no-brainer, steal of a deal.

I did read the entire thread and all I can seem to gather regarding Harrington's status at the end of the season is if we traded for him, we would have his bird rights meaning if he wants to walk we could potentially pull off a sign & trade?

    Is this correct?

If so, I still don't think its worth it considering i'm sure Atlanta would demand our 1st rounder since they obviously aren't going to bite on Harrington for any of our expiring contracts.

I don't like the idea of trading for a guy that can walk even if we could perhaps get something if he decides to leave. I would much rather have that 1st round pick to add another foundation builder like we got this year with Luther Head. If you ask me that makes more sense than experimenting with a talented but tweener forward that really wouldn't have a place on the team if Swift ever proves to be worth a damn.

These are what my sources are telling me:

TMAC for 2nd Round Draft Pick
    Yao for Shawn Bradley
    Release Luther Head?
