I would hate to think people here think I fabricated this whole conversation - trust me folks, it happened. Of course there are fakes around on facebook, but this guy was doing an AMAZING job if he was a 'wannabe'. It was only a new account he'd only just started up, but the people he had on there already, plus the types of posts on his wall and his pics all looked pretty damn genuine. As durvasa said, you cannot necessarily conclude it was really him, but it sure seemed like him...and I would like to think I have a good enough rep around here that people wouldn't think I'd have fabricated this whole conversation.... I did wonder about the Mac in Florida thing - but it could have been an honest mistake as he probably is minding his own business and Mac usually does go back to Florida in the offseason.
I wanted to discredit the conversation at first, but as I read through it again I realized it could be pretty genuine. Thanks for sharing.
I could also post links to any number of imposter accounts. Carl canceled his Facebook account early in his rookie year after becoming a local fan favorite, around which time multiple "Carl Landry" accounts started popping up. That picture is a fairly widely published photo (via any web search) from a fan party. This newly spawned "Carl Landry" account has 13 friends when his previous one had hundreds, and none of them are his brother, Marcus. Marcus also had an account, which also had hundreds of friends, and after Carl left, none of the imposters was on his list. But, by all means, feel free to chat with "Carl" and post the vague, errant statements he/she shares with you, or better still jock the OP, whose account of the events you cannot confirm. Haha I actually believe he does post on here fairly regularly. This is based off no evidence but just my speculation. He would be the type of person who would get a kick out of discussing Rockets basketball in disguise with fans.
Carl and AB are best pals, he would never say that. Plus Kyle was working out with some other crew outside of Houston.
I guess shane is working on running to the corner. Alsoo, Lowry couldn't beat brooks out if he was given first dibs. Brooks brings too much and with tracy back it would be another rafer situation. Meanwhile brooks works very,very well off the ball and makes shots.
If there is anyone Shane is not, it's Batman, who is a real person, a director and playwright for the stage, among other things, and has a broken leg (mending!). I'm sure Batman wouldn't mind having Carl's contract, though. Just don't ask him to play.
I apologised to the man - he had 223 friend requests.... he said he didnt mind though. Just a lot at once (no kidding). Credit the man for taking the time just to accept them all. What a champ. I let him know we call him 'Mandry'
