Just because Dwight opted in doesn't mean he won't be traded

Starting to believe that it is LESS, less likely Dwight will be moved by the draft and won't be until sometime after the start of FA. At that point...well I don't know how long the Rockets are gonna wait around.

The problem with waiting until free agency starts is once DWill is signed long-term then Orlando loses trade leverage as teams like us will be less likely to rent Dwight. We may still take a flyer on Dwight since we've got Goran and Lee...and try to convince Dwight to stick around. But other teams will drop into the won't trade without him agreeing to extend mode and we may not be willing to rent him either if we interview him and determine his mind is closed to extending.

If we have not acquired Dwight by June 30, then I think the odds of us acquiring Dwight go down substantially, as in they fall off a cliff. Still possible but very highly improbably. Right now, most of you think it is highly improbably. And I'm thinking it is almost 50/50 that we get him. I think right now it is between us getting him or Orlando twisting his arm and getting him to sign a free agent contract there. Of course, Boston could pop up offering Pierce and Rondo and that would be another story.

In my opinion, this is going to be one of the craziest last weeks of June we have ever seen. I wouldn't be surprised if the NBA set a record for most players traded in one day come June 28th.

I expect us to wait around to FA hoping we can trade for him... Then we will strike out and be left with nothing. Much like this last trade deadline.

I agree with that and like I said(yes I saw what you said in response), I don't see them trading him before FA or by the draft. They're taking their time in this whole process.

Gotta hire a GM, gotta hire a coach, GM gotta prepare for the draft, GM has to talk with Dwight.
