Flip Saunders was the coach of West Coast All Stars team last year as Wolves had the best record at that moment.;)

Yao got the most votes in NBA history with 2,558,278. Amazing. And certain "fans" have said we should trade him. Yao is definitely not going anywhere now. As it should be.

They do, but those "experts" have to act differently, and show that they are so much more knowledgable than casual fans. But the sad part is, if you are really an expert, you don't jump out eagerly to compare with an average fan.:D

I think lots of players mentioned before that ASG games are fun for them, not necessary hard work, but more as a mental relaxing. if you could perform well among the stars of the stars, I believe it's a boost for your confidence. So I am all for them to have a good game.

I know the game result doesnt mean anything but the East looks like a very weak rebounding team. They are going to be killed on the board.

I reay hope Rox can move MoT's big contract out. Then we will have enough cap for a decent PF. See, that's the rule. if any decent player playing in the same team with Yao ming, He got a big chance to be seected as all-star. So if the price is right, >5M, I am pretty sure there are a lot guy like to play here.

That will probably make him the first coach ever to coach both the EASTern and WESTern conference All Star teams. I don't think any coach has done that before now..........I stand corrected.

Just researched a bit and found Phil coached in 2000, so he's one. Can't find a list of ASG coaches though.

    What about Larry Brown?

Feel free to go ahead and book the Western all stars for the next decade with Yao, Duncan, Garnett, Tmac, Kobe. No one in the west will beat out those guys for those positions. No one in the West is going to be more "popular" to the fan than those 5 guys.

Of all people, Charles should understand the most that this is a popularity contest.

In fact, there were a few years where he was voted in to start, and Karl Malone was clearly having the superior season... but playing in Utah, it doesn't make you too "popular."

I can understand the case for Nash... but Ray Allen, save for an amazing start to the season, has not been playing at the same level that Tracy has for the last 2 months.

Yao top all-star vote getter again?

    Yao draws record vote total

The news that Yao Ming would be starting for the Western Conference All-Stars could hardly be considered news, least of all by Yao.

Yao, who received a record 2,558,278 votes, has been voted in as a starter in each of his three seasons, even when he shared a spot on the Western Conference half of the ballot with Shaquille O'Neal.

I will think about it for two, three seconds," he said, "then I will go back to sleep."

"I will think about it for two, three seconds," he said, "then I will go back to sleep."

What? Think about it for two or three seconds and go back to sleep? Come on, why not give real serious thought that all those fans truly thin you're special and you should prove them that you are truly special by giving your best everynight. At least try to be on the floor more than 35 minutes a game.

You're really just looking for an excuse to bury him. I hope the rest of the CF community bury you instead
