Just admit it... you were wrong about Adelman...

JVG supporters still would not admit that the "lack of talent" excuse was largely JVG's own doing.

BTW, I cannot imagine how the Rockets could have something resembled an offense when TMac was injured under JVG.

Have we become the perfect hybrid team or what? We're doing it BETTER than the Spurs! Plus, we have a REAL fast break threat and all the sudden our front court is formidable to say the least. Add to that a resurgent perimeter game that is making everyones game easier and a defense that is dare I say it, champion-esque and yes, Adelman looks like a genius!

Adelman and Morey the mad scientist duo! :D

Not sure about that... Jho would've still been gone and even then, JVG would've loved to see Scola's hustle. Plus he's not really the typical 'rookie' like these other youngsters.

I would agree if it were Landry or Brooks.

I advocated sitting on the fence because of past accounts of how long it took Sacto to run on his offense.

But this streak deserves a change in my sig.

I never doubt Adelman. How could I when his past records are so impressive?
He is a coach and past records count and his methods will deteriorate against time not like a player where he can get older and less athletic.

I admit I never thought the defense would come around. We have a long way to go but things are starting to look promising.

I think there's a chicken or the egg argument here in regards to the difference in offense between this year and previous years.

The main difference between this year and JVG years is our offensive diversity. No longer are Yao and T-Mac "required" for the offense to run smoothly. Now, is it because of Morey for getting the right players? Or Adelman for developing them?

Right now, I think it's 70/30 in terms of Morey's contribution. But if we make noise in the playoffs, that's when I'll truly praise Adelman.

RA has made me a believer. We are all impatient and wanted quick results like Bullard stated in the game. While RA was stressing patience and stating not to judge the team in Nov. Dec. Jan. but to judge the team in Feb. Mar. and Apr. Lets keep this roll going.

    how?

Me neither. Luther Head was the 3rd best player on the team, so it must have been pretty hard.

It's funny how JVG detractors stick to the same tired baseless arguments. I guess if you repeat something enough it eventually becomes a truth. Or you can have Dakota start 20 threads about it in the span of a month and that will have the same effect.

I will not say anything about Adelman without seeing the Rockets play a playoff series. That's the clicher. Everything else; irrelevant. Rockets could win the rest of the season, and it still wouldn't make me "apologize" for smacking Adelman down.

Win a playoff series, then I start doing the fessing up. ;)

I like how we always end up in a roller coaster situation ever since Tracy came.

Just this season alone, we started from huge expectation. A hot start, follow by losing streaks. Seemingly recovering, then players injuries. Was lotto bound, now a playoff darkhorse. Could had been the most disappointed team ever, but instead the longest winning streak in decade.

So many jump from the suicide watch list right back onto the bandwagon. I need to order more heart pills.

I think I was one of the few posters who suppourted RA. Sheesh, some people on the board are so impatient. Things would eventually click. Only I didn't expect it to be this quick.

I was wrong. I don't like his court presence one bit. But obviously he is doing something right.

I remember JVG saying he didn't like foreign players. He said something along the lines of they come to the USA and don't know how to play as a roleplayer. They still think they are stars.

I don't really see JVG pushing Morey to buy lottery picks to draft Brooks or Landry. Adelman attended many of Brook's college games. JVG probably never heard of him.

Rookies get coaches fired and make their wives mad, because she can't shop any more. Some coaches prefer their GM to spend the money on a veteran free agents, instead of buying lottery picks.

I hope that all of us finnally see what Rick was capable of. He was the type of coach that was not afraid to use the Rookies as long as they work in our favor. JVG on the other hand was different, he just sticked to his 8 men rotation and no more no less like a dictator. Even there was time in the playoff I was so anxious to see if he could bring someone like Bonzi of the bench but because Bonzi already in JVG' dog house he had no chance of get out. I might be too optimistic but I think this year will be a year for history making. This will be the year that we are going back to Western Conference final and more.

Glad to see at least someone remembers this. Gundy apologists forget even what their own beloved coach said.

Irony of the whole situation is that its exactly that kind of conservative, low risk approach that was Gundy's undoing.

Hey, if you don't believe it then just look at the last 4 years playoff record.

    good point.

I liked JVG's D, and now I like RA's O, but it's still too soon to jump to a conclusion. I mean, we ARE playing damn good basketball now, but let's just wait and see what's gonna happen in the playoffs. Or, maybe next month, see how's it going.

If we can keep playing like this the whole season, then something must happen in the post-season.

Anyway, good job for RA till now.

Adelman has been out of the first round plenty of times.
