I was not wrong. I always have confidence on coach A. I have nothing to say sorry. You guys need to admit your mistake, not me :D :D

I had faith all along, even during the bad stretch. I told people to wait till the playoffs to judge Adelman. I had confidence that we would make the playoffs even when we were several games out of the playoffs picture.

I never doubted him. Do I get to say, "I told you so?"

    Guess I just did.

What I am happy the most about this is that the Defense is still there.

Sometimes, your shot will not go down, but if you play defense, you can still keep it close.

Agreed. If this team were run by JVG, Chuck Hayes would be playing until he fouled out, Brooks would still be looking for playing time and our outstanding PF duo would be lucky to see garbage time.

Loving the run, but still optimistic. Each game makes me smile more and more, though. Tonight put me sky high!

I still disagree with getting rid of Bonzi, though.

    does he not deserve credit?

i mean if it was JVG, hayes would still be playing 30+ minutes a night.

i'd say adelman deserves some credit for allowing scola to start games and gel with the first unit.

I'm eating crow too. While I wasn't nearly as hysterical as some bipolar people around here, I do recall openly regretting that JVG was gone and questioning Adelman's coaching ability, including an article I wrote back in December.

I love what Adelman has done with these Rockets. For the first time in a long, long time, I feel like this team can beat anyone. Regardless of matchups. This is a new feeling. Before it used to be, "I hope we get this team in the playoffs because we don't matchup with Y team well, they always run us out of the building". Now there's this aura of dominance around the team, starting with Yao. One by one, he's marking his most pesky opponents and punishing them assertively. Harrington. Stoudamire. Chandler. Duncan. But even better still, the days of reliance on 2 vs 5 basketball are over. Even though, on certain nights such as this one, opponents are still reminded that this team has two elite superstars.

It's a pity that this year the field is as steep as it has ever been, and how far this team can go remains to be seen. But for win-starved Houston fans, merely a second round bid will suffice. But this, perhaps, is the best thing about this team. It has become clear that their aspirations go beyond that.

How long did it take him to start? 41 games?

Scola is a JVG guy 100%, he is not a rookie, and he has talent.

Adelman certainly deserves a peice of the credit for our success but I'm not quite sure how this warrants the annual premature Dakota "I told you so" circle jerk.

We won 52 games with no Yao last year so the JVG regime was no stranger to regular season success.

We have a far superior roster than of any year during the JVG years. There is absolutely no basis for the claim that Landry, Scola, and Brooks would not be in the rotation under Gundy when far inferior players in JL3, Head, and Hayes were given chances.

We're not exactly running the vaunted Dakota "Yao high post" octane offense which has been published and endorsed by its author ad nauseum on almost every thread in this BBS over the past 5 years. Actually, Yao in the high post was a complete failure and he is still doing all of his damage in the low block. Hmmm...think JVG might have known his own player's strengths and weaknesses? What a shocking discovery!

We are still winning games with our trademark defense. The offense has barely changed. The main difference in this team is that we have two more NBA power forwards on our roster than we did in all of JVG's years here combined.

Let's wait till the playoffs before we start the circle jerk. I don't see anything that is taking place that wouldn't have under JVG and any claim otherwise has been completely biased and baseless.

    LMAO

The team is LOADED with talent and yet we are only on pace to equal last year's win total.

Wait until this much more talented team gets past the first round before you start threads like this.

And can we put the "JVG hates rookies" BS to bed? JVG never had a Scola, Landry or even a Brooks while he coached this team. Can you please tell me what NBA teams all of these talented rookies that JVG victimized went on to star for?

talent JVG may never have let him show.

adelman made scola earn the spot. JVG woulda camped scola on the bench for jho and hayes! c'mon man!

I never wanted him fired, but I was sure we weren't gonna make the playoffs. I thought it would take us until next season to come around and Rick would be in the hot seat.

However, I was wrong about MJ, Landry, and Bonzi.
