The only trade I would make with the Clippers would be the following: Houston Trades: - Tracy McGrady - $23,239,561 L.A. Clipper Trade: - Chris Kaman - $10,400,000 - Marcus Camby - $7,650,000 WORKS ON REALGM! Here's why this deal makes sense: Rockets: The Rockets need Yao insurance this year worse than they needed McGrady insurance last year. Clearly, the 2008-2009 Rockets outperformed the 2007-2008 Rockets by leaps and bounds and they did it without McGrady. BIG STATEMENT TO THE ROCKETS FRONT OFFICE!!! The only thing that stopped the Rockets from going to the Western Conference Finals was a big man who could seal the paint and man up to the oversized Lakers. In this trade, the Rockets, already equipped with Yao Ming, add one of the best post defenders in the league in Marcus Camby (6-11) and a very solid back-up who can defend, rebound and score for many years to come in Chris Kaman (7-0). If Yao Ming goes down next season, which sadly is more than likely, the Rockets won't miss a beat. On top of removing McGrady and receiving the final pieces that would officially make the Rockets a Championship Caliber team, the Rockets save $5,189,561 in the deal which allows them to give Ron Artest the contract it will take to resign him this off season as well as Von Wafer without putting them over the luxury tax. L.A. Clippers: The Clippers are in re-build mode and if they think they aren't then they need to re-asses their priorities. With the economy being in the tank, playing second fiddle to a championship contending team in their own city, and having the top pick in the NBA draft, the Clippers need to think toward the future. Now is not their time to win. They should, and are foolish if they don't, choose Blake Griffin who will become the cornerstone of the franchise. This leaves Marcus Camby who is in his last year of his contract, Chris Kaman who has been injury prone (though strong when he plays) and two sizable contracts to players they no longer desire to have, in Randolph and Davis, and who no one else wants either that need to be moved. The best thing the Clippers can do is clear cap space and prepare for the 2010 off season. Having $18 Million dollars vs. $7.6 Million dollars cleared off the books is an incredible start to getting a struggling team back on track. On the bright side, having a team of Baron Davis, Eric Gordon, Tracy McGrady, Blake Griffin and Zach Randolph with Al Thornton coming off the bench ought to be an electrifying team to watch if only for a season. Rockets 2009-2010 Roster: P.G. - Aaron Brooks / Kyle Lowry S.G. - Ron Artest / Von Wafer / Brent Barry S.F. - Shane Battier / James White P.F. - Luis Scola / Carl Landry / Chuck Hayes ..C. - Yao Ming / Marcus Camby / Chris Kaman -With Lowry/Artest/Battier/Hayes/Camby on the court the Rockets can STOP any team in this league. -With Brooks/Wafer/White/Landry/Camby on the court the Rockets are as ATHLETIC as any team in this league. -With all of these pieces together, the Rockets can BEAT any team in this league.
I would do this trade but I disagree with your rotations. A third string center making 10 million a year wouldnt fly. Kaman would probably see signifigant playing time since he would be part of the future plan and Camby would not. But then again, of the three, 2 are likely to be out with injuries at any given time so we probably wouldnt have too many rotation issues.
The Rockets still will not win or go to the finals IMO with Brooks and Lowry at the PG spot because of too little experience in the Conference Finals and a possible Championship series as we're speculating. A veteran PG who can make up for Lowry and Brook's poor passing which surfaced in the Laker series (granted Ariza IS very quick and has great anticipation on defense) is needed to help the Rockets settle down when they start getting careless with the ball on entry passes into the paint and the team has a decent lead. Lowry and AB both threw very careless passes that should have either been bounce passes or had more zip on them at criticle points in the Laker series and a vet would settle the team down and have better vision of the entire court as well. I would say a veteran PG with more size (taller) is needed in addition to the backup C/PF 7 footer that is badly needed.

Wow....thanks for the viddie LarsV8.... I'd do that trade and still try to trade for Stephan Jackson in Oakland (Warriors) and try to sign a vet guard for lower exception. Like you wrote the probable injuries would settle the rotation but that would be awesome. Might mean we'd have to ship Landry though cause we can't ever trade Scola at starting PF....Hopefully we could keep em all and get rid of Hayes in a deal for another scorer...Thing is I'd want to re sign Camby when his deal expires if he stays healthy....
I'm getting greedy here: what other salary amount would the Rockets have to trade along with T-Mac's ($24.5 million) to acquire the Clipper's Kaman, Camby AND B.D.? I'd be willing to take on Baron's contract as well as Kaman's and possibly re-sign Camby instead of letting him walk at the end of next season. Those would be some serious additions on the front line along with our shorter unit. We'd have to throw in some hefty salary to get all three from the Clippers: does anyone know who else would have to be in the deal with T-Mac without including Scola?
Apparently there are rumors up in Philly for a Tmac for Iggy+Dalembert trade! That would be amazing. I discused it with a Sixers fan and he said he would actually do this trade, this is his reasons: -They clear some much needed cap -They get rid of Iggy's big contract, and loose Iggy. I told him he was crazy, but he then said that most Philly fans think Young is as good as Iggy and has a way better contract. They can't play both of them and he said he would rather keep Young. -Dalembert is leaving anyways, so they don't really care about it. I think this trade would never go through, but to think that Sixer fans would accept it, it kind of makes me feel its possible..
It's my opinion that ANYONE would want mcgrady. in theory, that is. life's about risks. big risk, big gain. nuff said.
Damn! i'm wetting over that philly trade...after that, a scorer then would complete our team. Les would probably let us go over the limit w/ that kind of trade..it's impossible though
Yeah it would be a pretty nasty team. Brooks/Lowry Iguodala/Wafer/White Battier/Artest Scola/Landry Yao/Dalembert/Hayes
No not at all. Just some Sixers fans actually talking about wanting to do this. They believe they need to/will make some major moves this offseason because of Miller and Dalembert not being content.
Crap can't edit post, just to say that it apparently is beeing talked about in the streets of Philly (its not just some stupid trade thread on a Sixers forum).
