Got my trade I want from the Clips and it works per the trade checker it is

    Rox...
    Tracy McGrady
    Aaron Brooks

    Clips..
    Baron Davis
    Marcus Camby
    Rights to Sofocles Schortsianitis

    Why itll work:

We get rid of T-Mac. Granted we do give up brooks a legit PG in the league for years to come

Why we do it: We get a PG who can run the floor and break down defensives more effectively then Brooks
We get a guy who can play alota time behind Yao in Camby.. Rockets could put every big man in the league in trouble by swapping those two out. Plus the Rox can use him against teams that run the court where yao gets tired out..Plus Morey said that he would like to pick up people like he did with White that are not draft picks but are legit prospects which is where Sofocles Schortsianitis fits in..

Why Clippers might bite.. They need a show to compete with the Fakers... McGrady and Brooks can put on a show.. Brooks is Cheap and young...They also have a glut in the big man area...They need rid of Davis salary fast the team is failing financially

Did a quick google of Sofocles "Baby Shaq" Schortsianitis (he's 6'9" and fat) and found this image that made me laugh:

Why doesn't anyone see that trading McGrady right now will not give any real return for us.

The best thing we can do is hold onto McGrady through however long we have him next year. Let his contract expire and use that money to do some damage in free agency in 2010.

You will not get value for him in trade at all so it's better to just keep him. He has more value as an expiring contract than anything else.

Morey will not trade him because of this.

I wonder if we can trade TMac with Memphis for Ricky Rubio, Miles and Chris Mihm. Memphis already has Mayo, Conley and Gay, they probably don't need another PG. TMac and Rudy Gay can both play 2 and 3.

That Spaniard kid is going to be a perfect fit for Yao and the Rockets, and Yao gets a backup centre.

    Great Trade Idea

LA Clippers Trades: Baron Davis and Marcus Camby
LA Clippers Receives: Tracy McGrady and Kyle Lowry

Houston Trades: Tracy McGrady and Kyle Lowry
Houston Receives: Marcus Camby and Jamal Crawford (S&T)

Golden State Trades: Jamal Crawford (S&T)
    Golden State receives: Baron Davis

WHY CLIPS DO IT: They get rid of a big man to make room for B.Griffin. They also get rid of Baron Davis and his huge contract and low shooting %. They pick up T-Mac who will keep the seats filled and will take B Diddys spot as the "star". They also pick up a young, potential filled PG in Kyle Lowry

WHY Golden State does it: It is obvious that they missed Baron Davis this year. He was their leader and they already admitted that they'd love to have him back. Crawford and Nelson didn't seem to get along too great so this is perfect for them.

WHY WE DO IT: We get rid of T-MAC. It hurts to see K-Low go though. But we pick up a great back up for Yao in Marcus Camby. He is an absolute beast on defense and at rebounding and his offense isn't too bad. We also pick up Jamal Crawford who can play PG or SG.

anyone who thinks we are trading for boom dizzle needs to re-evaluate Mr Morey's MO in his short yet prosperous tenure with the Rockets...

    1) He has already turned down the trade the OP has suggested because BDiddy has an albatross contract and a questionable health history. Lets use a little common sense when trying to step into our GM shoes. This team has had a history of crippling injuries to star players...so lets trade for an injury prone PG who is in his 30s? genius!

    2) Marcus Camby is an empty stat padding shell of a player.

I would have to agree that McGradys contract has alot of value out on the market. It has nothing to do with stats or selling jerseys. He has a big f'n expiring contract.

What support do we have that Morey turned down a B.Diddy trade? Did it have the specifics of the deal?

Actually there was a thread a few weeks back that pointed this out as a false hope. Unless Yao options out in 2010, the only money we will be playing with is MLE type (and since we would be under the cap by that amount, we wouldn't get MLE). So letting his contract expire doesn't buy us anything. If we let his contract expire it does help Les but it doesn't help the team. And if that happens, look for us to completely rebuild as Tracy and Yao leave.

And McGrady not only will not help us next year, his value is = to Marbury's and we all know how well that worked out for the Knicks.

We are not getting any decent players with decent contracts for Tracy. We'll be lucky to get anything of any value at a somewhat inflated price and longer length. It would be nice to get into a 3 way with the Clippers and GS giving Davis back to GS and getting a back up big man from the Clips and anything from GS. Deke is done and we need to get that taken care of.

The thread that I believe ArtV is referring to is this:
    http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=168495&page=1&pp=20

BimaThug does a great job of explaining and calculating the roster's salary and team budget in comparison to the expected salary cap. long story short, if we sign artest to an 8mil deal (wishful thinking) and keep the rest of our team together, excluding wafer, hayes, and dorsey, we'll only have like 3-4 mil to spend in 2010. read it as he does a much better job of explaining than i ever could.

However, Les Alexander has stated that he wants to be players in the 2010 market, so maybe he and DM have something up their sleeve but it will probably necessitate losing strong contributor(s) to this team that was only 1 win away from the WCF.

    nbadraft.net about

    Sofoklis Schortsanitis

Strengths: Solid athlete who can run the floor very well and possesses above average leaping ability Because of his strength he is able to get excellent position on the blocks For his size he shows great agility around the basket Does a very good job at drawing contact in the lane and more importantly once contact occurs he has the strength and body control to finish Has shown the ability to hit the 18-19 foot jumper when needed Has soft hands which allow him to catch most passes thrown into the post Plays every game with passion and intensity A player who is not easily intimidated Due to his aggressiveness and size he is a great offensive rebounder Is a solid passer for a player his size and age although his decision making is still a work in progress On tip-ins and lay-in's he displays soft touch around the basket Defensively he has very quick hands capable of intercepting most passes Smart defender who will often allow his man to front him once the pass is made and has enough quickness to quickly jump in front for the steal Owns a solid work ethicand has the desire to be great not just good

Weaknesses: Has a bad habit of picking up quick fouls due to over aggressiveness when guarding his man Needs to work on recognizing double teams better as he is often slow to react to them Fundamentally he is a little behind in his development as he has had to play out of position for his team Offensively he still has a tendency to rely too much on his back to the basket power game instead of concentrating on face up skills Height is inflated, although Schortsanitis is listed by "some" at 6′11″, he looks to be between 6′8″ to 6′9″ Despite his ability to draw contact in the lane, his below average free throw shooting inhibits him from taking full advantage of his opportunities While he has range on his jumper, he lacks consistency Tends to put the ball on the floor rather than immediately going up with the ball after receiving it in the post Although a solid rebounder he is still learning how to get rebounds out of position although with added game experience this should be less of an issue Defensively he is not a great shot blocker as he is still learning defensive footwork and timing

Notes: Schortsanitis made enormous strides over the last year. One year ago he was a great prospect capable of dominating his age group but lacked the skills and experience to play against professionals. He has really come a long way in a short time. His numbers are completely mind blowing to Europeans. Playing in the Greek League which is the 3-4th best league in all of Europe, Sophocles averaged 11 points 6 rebounds in 21.5 minutes in 23 games. He shot 58% from the field and had more offensive rebounds than defensive 3.3 to 3. He totaled five doudle doubles, with his best game 20p 11r against Panionios.

    McGrady to Clippers for Camby/Kaman
    Clippers send Baron to Twolves
    Twolves send us Mike Miller

Clippers move a big man and bdiddy contract
Twolves get another scorer besides Al Jefferson. nice C/PG duo. 5yrs on BD since
Foye and Telfair coming up on extension.

Rox get Yao less minutes and hopefully less strain on his feet with another big man
Either Camby 2yr or Kaman 5yr plus get a nice wing player they have wanted in the past.

    Watcha Think?

EVEN if Baron Davis were in perfect health (which he's FAR from -- his knees have given him more problems than McGrady's ever gave HIM)...

EVEN if Baron Davis had a reasonable contract with only a couple of years left on it...

I *still* wouldn't do this trade.

Statistics aside, Davis is a mediocre PG. He's a divisive presence who has a history of alienating teammates with his me-first attitude (Sound familiar, anyone?) and he's known to be extremely moody (Anyone? Bueller?). There's a reason he keeps getting traded despite his glowing stats and his often heroic games.

Camby, on the other hand, I'd want on this team in a heartbeat.

If we could get Davis and Camby or Kaman for T-Mac and one of brooks or lowry, you do the deal in a heartbeat.

Davis when motivated is in a whole different stratosphere than either Brooks or Lowry, and he will be happy to be on a contender. He's a major mismatch at the point guard and has outstanding court awareness. Plus Camby or Kaman give the Rockets the backup they need for Yao. Re-sign artest on top of it and it becomes a great offseason.

The Rockets are playing for now, not the future.

Just a horrible trade. Denver gave Camby up for nothing. Crawford is one of the worst, most inefficient ballhogs in the league.

Camby is getting up there in age, and Kaman is around yao's age, and still has alot of room to grow. I would still take either one, but Camby was also DPOY 3 years ago

I read the Clippers will want to move Zach Randolph first before Camby.

Also, according to a poster in another thread, any team trading for McGrady this off-season will have to pay the full $23 million of his contract, whereas if they wait until around the trade deadline next season, they pay half of that amount and still have the full $23 million come off their salary cap. So it's a good incentive for teams to wait on McGrady, IMO.

I think the only trade they would agree on, that would make us better would be T-Mac, for Kamman, Davis.

You could add a second rounder for sofocles schortsianitis, but this guy is having serios weight issues, right now he has been suspended for his team because he is over 180 kg (396,8 pounds).
