Why is everyone so against this deal? Boozer would be a starter for us and he would be a perfect fit for adelmans system. He can create his own offense, he can play off the ball, he can shoot, he can pass, he rebounds, he defends, and he plays his best ball in the playoffs. Scola and Artest are good players, but people keep complaining about how we dont have good ball movement and we take too many 3 pointers. Boozer would fit right in and provide us with another legit 20 ppg guy who shoots a high percentage. Has anyone seen our shooting percentages in our losses this season. Its terrible

Those shots scola is getting now, boozer will make those and then some. He will be just as good if not a better defender and rebonder. He would be a big upgrade if he gets healthy.

Wafer wold get more playing time off the bench like everyone wants too.

The 'rumor' quoted Houston radio guys. 'Nuff said.

Scola IMHO is as good or better than Booze, certainly for these Rox. He is not going anywhere.

Exit strategy? Artest, Battier, Rafer, Luther, Landry - any of them. None of them.

You are insane if you think Scola is as good as Booz. You can run an offense through Boozer. Scola is a roll player. We have enough roll players on this team. We need another legitimate go to guy. Boozer would be that and so much more.

Guys, calm down, does this seem like a trade Morey would make? A more likely trade would be Head, Artest for Boozer if at all.

    Scola is a role player.

    This is a roll player:

He's played in only 12 games this season. Don't we have enough injury problems already?

Scola is a role player...He has a set of responsibilities on the court that he has to stick with if he wants to be effective(hustle, offensive rebound, midrange jumper, run the floor). You can't just give him the ball and expect him to make things happen especially in crunch time. In fact I cant remember scola ever being involved in something great at the end of a game since he's been here. Its usually Landry that comes up big for us at the 4 spot at the end of games. These are the "high leverage moments" we're always talking about. I cant remember him ever being great in those moments of a game and theres a reason for that. When everyones intensity picks up, he cant just outwork guys like he always does. He's just not talented enough. Its not his fault.

Dont get me wrong, Scola is a very good role player, but i'll take a proven go to guy who has played on a good team over a role player any day.

It's not a matter of whether Boozer fits into our system. He will opt out after the season is over and we will be left without nothing while the Jazz end up with Artest and Scola.

No way we trade with Utah.

No way Jerry Sloan would want to see Artest in his lockerroom.

Otherwise, this is a GREAT trade. not.

Theyll just have scola who is again, an aging roll player. The rockets will have had a year with a legit all star and 11 million dollars of free space to work with. Hell, they might even choose to resign boozer to a longterm deal if he seems like a good fit. Theyll have the flexibility to do whatever they want.

role - proper or customary function

roll - anything rolled up in a ringlike or cylindrical form (i.e. Eddy Curry)

Its also worth mentioning that boozer is going to come back from his injury more motivated than your average player. He has a player option at the end of the year, and he is one of the few big name players in next years class. He knows whats at stake. So at worst we get a dam good rental player.

mmmm HELLOOO why does everyone seem to be ignoring the fact that boozer HAS BARELY PLAYED ALL SEASON and has been inactive for ~3 months and is rehabbing form KNEE SURGERY he just had about a month ago? And there's a chance that if this trade goes down, boozer won't play a single minute for the Rockets because of his leg injury if things don't go well, and then opt out as a free agent after this season...

no thanks... i'd rather keep artest and scola...

The trade wouldn't happen unless boozer could pass a rockets physical and we deemed him ready to play. he should be getting close by now. If the rumors are true, Morey has probably already talked with Boozer and his agent and they feel confident that he can pass the physical. Its all speculation though.

at least now we can beat the jazz simply yao doens't have to play boozer on D :D

but seeing a former jazz player in a rockets jersey

and losing one of our most consistent players
