t-mac haters seem to forget that t-mac played hurt through our 22-game winning streak.

"bu bu bu but t-mac hasn't done anything for the rockets!" LOL!

Once again, what did the 22 game win streak result in? Let me guess, another first round exit? Streaks are meaningless if the momentum does not translate into post season success. It just means another year of playoff futility. You still haven't answered the question. Name one HOF player that never got past the first round. Better yet, name one great player that never got past the first round.

Maybe it was just me being homer, but his first two years here, I actually thought tmac was better than kobe due to tmac's passing ability and amazing court vision, and at the time there were questions whether kobe could win w/o shaq, if he was too selfish etc. It's really sad how far tmac has dropped off.

We didn't have Yao in the playoffs and part of the 22game win streak. How can you expect to get past the first round without yao? Not even making the playoffs without yao this season.

Well, as Shaq sang before Kobe got one on his own was "Tell me how my ass tastes". Kobe wouldn't have any rings without that ridiculous Gasol trade and Shaq.

Do you know how many games Grant Hill played in the 3 seasons he was on the Magic with McGrady? 47 out of 246. You don't think could have been different had Hill been healthy? We'll never know, but taking away a talent as great as Grant Hill certainly didn't help.

I know he is 0 for 7, but the only 2 years I consider failures were the '04-05 series against Dallas which was arguably rigged and the '06-'07 series against Utah in which they just outplayed us. But whatever.

I didn't bring up the 22 win streak. Someone else did. Again, the question remains. How many great players, let alone HOF, have never won a playoff series at this point in their careers? Numbers don't lie.

Every player in the HOF has not won a playoff series.

Except that Magic was doing those passes on teams heading for the playoffs, in series the Lakers would win.

i'm not even arguing that t-mac should be in the HOF. i don't even care if he makes it into the HOF or not.

you're right. the 22-game win streak did not result in a championship. last year also did not result in a championship. so if you give t-mac no credit at all for anything he did for the rockets organization because we never won a championship with him, does that mean yao ming or any other rocket hasn't done anything for us either?

i'm not saying the 22-game win streak resulted in a championship, but it's still something being appreciative of t-mac for. he brought a lot of good and exciting moments to our organization. you can't doubt that. that alone is enough to be grateful for.

if you want to judge someone solely based on how many championships they brought to the rockets, you should hate everyone on the rockets. not just t-mac.

this thread is not to talk about whether or not t-mac deserves to be in the HOF. this thread is purely about people comprehending the talent of tracy mcgrady. clearly, you think he has absolutely no talent whatsoever and has done absolutely nothing for the rockets organization. am i right?

Why are people bringing up the HOF? This is a thread to remind people how good that man WAS. If you're gonna recite all of his shortcomings and try to relate them to how good he was it's rediculous. Everyone brings up the fact he never got out the first round. It's a good point but that dosen't make him a bad player. Bad circumstances, horrible breaks and lapses on his part all played a part in the demise of his once promising career. But really for all of you haters; is it so BAD to admit the man was once one of the best in the league? One of the best talents to step foot on a court?

That's all this thread was made for, not for you to hate. Make a Tracy hate thread if that's what you want.

Sure, but if you can get No.1 record. You'll get the likes of Kings, Warriors for first round. Much better matchup isn't it?

Whom to blame when TMac can't win enough in regular season? Replace TMac with Kobe for those years, who really think Rox would only get No.4 record at best?

lol, getting the warriors in round 1? that didn't work out too hot for the mavericks in 2007 did it? playoff seedings really don't matter. it's all about the matchups.

and are you really going to say t-mac doesn't win enough in the regular season? lol! we were 55-27 in 2008 with t-mac which gave us the 5th seed in the competitive western conference. you do realize we were only 2 wins out of the 1st seed, right?

we were also 52-30 in 2007, 4th best record in the west...

Wow there are some haters in here :) .

There are a lot of people on here who hate Tmac, for good reason, but the man was once one of the elites. Its too bad injuries, a little bad luck, and poor work ethic took a toll on the guy.

I am quite surprised so many of you guys are saying that Kobe plays better D. In his younger days, the census around the league was that Tmac was by far the better defender. If you dont believe me, go check out his D while he was in Toronto. His D did slip considerably when he was with Orlando.

While we are at it, how many playoffs series did Kobe win without Shaq and Gasol? I think he was 0-3 or 0-4 after the Shaq trade and before Gasol arrived. He too squandered big playoffs lead. Didnt the Suns come back on the Lakers after being down 3-1 the season they did not have Amare? Didnt Kobe quit on the Lakers in game 6 or 7 trying to make a point by not shooting?
