tmac was a superstar during his prime, and a mega star for a brief period. lebron has been a MEGA-STAR for the past 3 years or so and will continue to be so. there is no comparison. individually, lebron is the best player by far in the past 2-3 years.
LBJ's game is heavily based on his strength, athleticism, and speed, all of which are off the charts, though he does seem a bit stiff at times compared to Kobe's agility and T-Mac's smoothness. Considering how young he is, this is entirely expected. As far as how good LBJ is exactly, it really depends on how he expands his game as he grows older, just like Kobe, Jordan, and Hakeem.
I know he's not popular around here and I have my problems with him, but I believe he was one of the best overall talents this league will ever see. The guy had ALL the physical gifts, had (has) GREAT court vision, silky shooter. Kind of tragic how it all ended. If he had worked a bit harder, and avoided injuries, IMHO, he could of been one of the greatest of ALL time.

I'm not sure what you mean about the PER comment. Michael Jordan has had a higher PER than T-Mac playing out of the triangle. He did it numerous times. You can't compare assist numbers because T-Mac's team revolved around T-Mac. Out of the pick and roll, T-Mac has had 6.5 assists to Kobe's 6 assists. T-Mac has had more offensive win shares than Kobe (yeah, its related to Usage even more than PER) but Kobe is better defensively.
He never won any of those series. Does any Rocket fan ever care about how many points anybody scored when they lost in game 7? Why does scoring points mean so much to the TOF population? I mean Hakeem Olajuwon never won a scoring title or jacked up a bunch of 3s to win a regular season game. Why should we be impressed with this one player when there were so many better than him? Especially on a ROCKETS board, where some of us lucky few witnessed on of the best ever. why should we be impressed with some overpriced whine while we were drinking from the bottle of champions?
That is actually a lot of our point. No one is denying that T-Mac was a beast in terms of natural talent, unless they are hating for sheer purpose of hating and trolling. Everyone knows how good T-Mac could be if he actually dedicated himself. The problem is, he tries to only get by on his talent and athleticism alone without any of the hard work, focus, mental fortitude, and killer instinct. I don't care how good of a scorer he is however when at the end of the day, we are still one and done in the playoffs. T-Mac's legacy is going to go down as the greatest player to never get past the first round, unless he is desperate enough to sign on to a team that is already a contender to try to score a ring. Even then, as big as his ego is and as lazy as he is, I find it hard that he will be able to coexist on any team where he is not the first option.
Its not your place to tell other people who they can and can't be fans of. Its selfish and rude of you.
It's interesting to realize that McGrady is a year younger than Kobe. It feels like the guy is an old man because he's been in and out for so long
He didn't win any of those series' but to say it was his doing is terribly stupid. In a 7 game series the better team will almost always win granted they play on their game. Tracy had a phenomenal series against the Mavericks. He was heroic on the road games. The home games, let's be honest with ourselves. You were SCREAMING at the tv because of some of the calls they were calling against Yao. People make the arguement; "WELL HE HAD YAO AND STILL LOST" The man had Yao on the team, but Yao was really taken out of his game for the pivotal parts of the series. Sure he got some OK numbers at times but that speaks to how little defense the Mavericks had for him. Take a look at that 05 roster. If you even TRY to say that was a good TEAM, you're really kidding yourself. There was Tracy, a Yao that was taken out of important peices of the games. Our third best player was DEKE. No disrespect to Deke but you can not tell me that we expected him to REALLY contribute. Then a washed up Bob Sura, granted played good at times but at best, BEST a mediocre streaky shooter. Good hard nosed defender but somewhat handicapped offensively. He was no better than Rafer. Ryan FREAKING Bowen. Might as well not even play offense because he presented NO threat. Scott Padgett could shoot but for some reason he had anxiety attacks whenever the ball went his way. Mike James a VERY streaky player. IF he misses his first couple of shots you might as well not play him because his game was so predicated on streakiness and momentum. And oh my god David Wesely, super undersized, dissapeared in about 80% of the series as far as his shooting went. Jon Barry shooting idiotic threes on the break and forcing terrible shots. We REALLY could have used Juwan in that series to defend and hit that open jumpshot they were giving Bowen. This aside from McGrady and Yao (Who was really handicapped due to poor officiating) Was only a half way respectable team BECAUSE of McGrady's individual talents. We lost in spite of his performances. The Mavericks in game 7 decided to make the adjustment that really should have been made earlier: Make the other Rockets beat them. And well...they failed miserably. It's a team game people, no one guy can win a series. Seriously. McGrady played their best offensive player on defense and took every guy that defended him to school. What else do you expect? Him to start raining down 3s from halfcourt? Holy CRAP he did do that, look at game 2, second quarter. Hit a game winner? WHOA what do ya know? Play point guard? Guard one of the best scorers? Fight through poor officiating? Score at a tremendous rate? Play almost every minute of every game? Come on now...seriously guys. He was a Rocket, we all paint him out to dissapear in the playoffs, really, he carried this team and there's no denying it. If you read all that, thanks.
it was rude that Galileo told people the world is round. it was rude of the tmac fans to tell the rocket fans that their team sucks without him and that rick adeleman was a bad coach and daryl morey was a bad gm.
The playoffs are about matchups at first. Then they turn into a game of adjustments. The better teams are better equipped to make the appropriate adjustments to match the opposing team. The Magic team of 03, Rockets of 05 and 07 were very limited as complete teams. Too limited to make the neccessary adjustments to match those other teams.
I don't think he makes it if his career ended today. He may in the future improve his standing, but not through any individual accomplishment.
